Drank from 12 oz can and didn’t see color. Very hoppy but still drinks very much like a pilsner.

Small vibrant of sweet malts with hints of lemon zest to finish the scent off. Golden in color with one finger white head that lasts a bit spotty lacing. Sweet lemon taste starts this brew off with a decent bite in the middle then a sweet smooth malt finish. Light body with super sparkly carbonation. Nice complexity for a pilsner love the taste and carbonation. Great job!

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Clear half-dinner glass? From: Whole Foods in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Price: $2.69 Purchased: July 30, 2016 Consumed: Aug. 2, 2016 Reviewed as: American Pale Lager Misc.: Could not read the can on date, but did see the time (1:08 p.m. ET); Brewed and canned by Sly Fox I’ve seen a few Mikkeller beers in stores lately and decided to pick this one up at Whole Foods in Manhattan Beach. Did not know the price until I saw it pop up on the screen and not sure I would have bought it had I known the price ahead of time. Realized when I got back that American Pilsner (which is on the can) is not a style yet on Beer Advocate. So I guess I’ll go with American Pale Lager like BA has it now. Poured a medium, yellow, clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky, white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good foamy spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25) Had a lot of different smells coming in here. It’s like when a Pilsner meets an American India Lager. I guess an American Pale Lager makes sense. Got corn cereal, sourdough bread, grassy notes, hay, white cracker, grain, Cascade hops and hints of citrus notes. (Smell - 3.50) Taste pretty much followed the nose, for good or for bad. Really seems like the Pilsner notes and hoppy notes were battling each other with neither coming out on top and just coming out with a messy outcome. Got citrus zest, Cascade hops, grass, herbal notes, mowed hay, cereal and sourdough bread. (Taste - 3.50) Light body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish. (Feel - 3.75) This was a little better than I thought it would be after quickly glancing at the BA ratings. Still not good enough to want to have again on purpose though. (Overall - 3.50) 3.57 81 B

can from ølbutikken. Aromatic and dry, crisp hoppy, dry malty, not sweet. A super treat, the perfect hangover pils.

12 oz can. Aroma is hay, cotton candy, dough, age. Pours hazy golden with a thick white fluffy head with excellent retention and some lace. Taste is bitter with flavors of old beer that was probably pretty good fresh. It reminds me more of old American pale ales rather than old pilsners I’ve had. I don’t see a readable date code anywhere, so who knows exactly when this was canned. I imagine long ago.

Pours clear gold with a thick, frothy off white head. Tastes like citrus hops, resin, caramel malt, orange, and grassy. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like citrus hops, resin, caramel malt, orange, and grass. Too hoppy for a pils. Bummer.

12-oz can. Pours a very cloudy medium amber with a loose white head that sticks around for a fair bit. Big sweet nose, some oranges and some sweet cream, very much a creamsicle. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Light caramel, lots of oranges, lots of cream, grassy notes. Long sweet finish. What this has to do with an "American Pilsner" is utterly beyond me, but that’s alright. I sat outside, knocked back two of them, and distinctly wished I had more than two.

Can at home. Slightly hazy golden orange colour. Faint sweetness from a malt base. Some citrus notes, subtle hop bite. Splendid :)

0.33 l can at Svijet piva (World of Beers), Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja and Marko. About a year ago. Clear light yellow, small head. Aromatic, fruity. Bitter kick, some malts in the background. Bitter for a pilsner, but that isn’t bad. Good beer to drink in large amounts.

12 ounce can into lager glass, unreadable can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color, with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Awesome appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, light pepper/pine, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast notes present. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous mouthfeel that is nice. Zero alcohol warming as expected of 5%. Overall this is a great hoppy American Pilsner style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
