3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy orange with a foamy head. Aroma is quite orangey. Tastes like a normal IPA. I think I’ve been served the wrong one.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This is a fragrant coffee IPA from Mikkeller. Mikkel Bjergsø claims himself that it’s the world’s first IPA brewed with coffee, and it’s probably also true. I’ve certainly never met the combination before - but it’s definitely exciting. It is heavily foaming with a persistent foam. Both coffee and aroma hops smells beautiful and promise something really nice. The taste is hopped on a wonderfully comfortable way. Both lemon and floral notes there is room for, and then facilitate bitter coffee notes in the final. It’s certainly a different and very tasty IPA, but if you have hop horror you will surely not find it comfortable. I give it much like the top grade, not because of the perfection, but the combination Hops and coffee are innovative and are definitely two ingredients that are incredibly well together.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Malt och Humle, Linköping, on September 12, 2015.
Hazy orange to amber color, small white to off-white head. Mainly hoppy citrus scent, fruity, some cream, can’t say I find any coffee, perhaps a slight hint of acidity from coffee beans if thinking about it. Hoppy citrus, fruity, herbal, bitter, zest, pith, chili like, light acidic taste. No coffee coming through here either. Dry, bitter, pith aftertaste. A somewhat peppry bitterness tingling on the tongue. Medium mouthfeel, high dry bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 330ml (Firmabier)
Murky amber, ruby color, small off-white head. Citra’s tropical fruityness dominates the aroma, only hints of coffee. Medium-bodied. Sweetish tropical fruity front, then citric bitterness, some resin even. Some coffee only in the aftertaste. Different than other Koppis I’ve had. More like a Citra single hop showcase than coffee IPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
draught@Erzbierschof Zurich - hazy orange beer with a little foam left; nice lace; solid aroma of coffee beans in front of citrus and blood oranges; full-bodied, some astringency, assertive and very bitter; long dry citrusy and orange-ish finish with more solid coffee presence

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle. Hazy dark amber pour with minimal off-white head, no lacing. Aromas of toffee, fresh grass and mocha. Taste is bitter (duh), a bit sweet and nicely balanced. Low carbonation, somewhat oily palate. Aftertaste is long and dry, with snappy, citrus finish. Nice stuff, missed a bit of the coffee, though.
