Vague hop smell, murky light brown colour. Taste is bitter cold coffee. For me the combo of hops and coffee is a bit weird. Not my cup of coffee ;) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml Bottle shared by Eric S., thanks buddy! Color is a hazy gold with some spotty head retention. This brew started off with some promise. The coffee bean aroma is rich and intoxicating. Light traces of grassy hops.

The body is medium with a yeast element. Coffee and hops.... Um, doesn’t really mesh well together... Good coffee bean flavor but bitterness from hops throws it off. Tastes almost like the coffee bean turned bitter and sour. Although it most certainly hasn’t. Sorry this just doesn’t work at all for me and I love coffee brews, no thanks.

Hazy copper-amber, large long lasting off-white head, good lacing. Aroma is of hops, herbal, tea, some roast, caramel. Flavour has the coffee coming through, herbal and some spice, hoppy. Herbal mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long with coffee and hops. Weird stuff, not much coffee in the aroma but a fair amount in the flavour. Alright.

Nice copper pout with a cream colored head. Nose of smooth coffee and citrus hops. Good balance n the flavor between malt sweetness, hop bitterness and very mellow coffee influence.

Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014, grand tasting 09/08/2014. Hazed orange / cara,e; coloured pour with a small halo white head. Aroma is coffee beans, veg pepper, mineral, maybe some spicy piney hop but it is pretty faint. Flavour is smooth caramel, coffee bean, piney hop. Palate is medium carbonation, quite sweet malty backbone. OK.

A very interesting beer, haven't had anything like it before. Pours a bright cloudy orange with a thick tan head. Smells of coffee and hops. Taste is very creamy, with the hops and coffee balancing well together. Bitter finish, but more coffee bitter then California IPA bitter. Weird and good. Had on tap at the Trappist.

"murky amber orange pour, off white head. colder, the aroma is more sweet malts and hops and very little coffee. First sip is bitter up frint, especially grapefruit. Ample malts, and a long lasting bittersweet coffee finish that would end up being my favorite thing about this beer. More balanced aroma as it warms, though i started cool (not cold). REALLY cool when the coffee and hops come out in equal measure. It doesn’t hurt that this would be a decent IPA apart from the coffee either. The only bad part? A bit steep..."

Transfer from BA review on 8-9-13- Served on tap in a chalice glass Appearance – The beer is served a bronze-reddish color with a two finger thick rocky white head. The head has a decent level of retention fading over a moderate level of time to leave a decent level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The coffee in the aroma wasn’t as strong as I would have expected. The aroma overall was heaviest of citrus grapefruit hop as well as some herbal and piney smelling hops. Along with these smells are aromas of some breadiness as well as a little bit of caramel and some tangerine adding just a touch of sweetness to the smell overall. Taste – Just as with the nose, the taste is very weak in coffee especially upfront. The main flavors, initially to greet the tongue, are of a IPA nature with flavors of a bready and lightly caramel and tangerine sweet taste mixed with a whole lot of grapefruit hop. As the taste advances, pine hop flavors come to the tongue with the sweeter flavors losing a little bit of ground. At the end, a light coffee flavor dose come to the tongue adding a different bitter dimension to the taste. The coffee combines with the other IPA flavors and a newly arrived herbal hop flavor to leave a rather mixed flavor IPA taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the medium side in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. Rather fitting for the IPA style, but nothing too exceptional. Overall – A rather easy drinking and tasty IPA overall, but really lacking in the coffee I was hoping it would deliver. Nice, but not really worth the price you will likely pay.

Keg at Brewdog. Hazy, cloudy pale brown, small white head. Aroma is light coffee, mixed wet leaves, demarara sugar. Body is medium with middling carbonation for keg, not foamy. Taste is light coffee, floral , tangy pith, smooth finish. Not that bitter. OK, but a touch weird!
