Pours a hazy dark amber to orange with a tall, frothy khaki head. Aroma is floral, pine and citrus hops along with a faint toast and light coffee. Flavor is Woody, earthy, floral, citrus, pine, and nutty, lightly floral coffee. Medium bodied, with a creamy entry, medium, sharp carbonation and off dry, confusingly bitter finish. While I am not entirely impressed with the IPA+Coffee combination, I feel like it is something that might have the potential to grow on me.

Coffee and ipa aren’t a combo I’d think of. It’s not as bad as I expected, but still not really doing it for me. Nose of coffee roast, don’t get any hops. In the mouth it comes off as more of an ipa, with dirty or vegetative undertones. Almost like an ale blended work per. Finishes with more roast.

sample from bottle, new batch i believe, poured a darker amber colour with a slight off head. nose is sweet malts, citrus, coffee (weird), bitter grapefruit, zest, slight tart, veggies. bitter coffee aftertaste. don’t think it works very well together.

Bottle, Ketts Tavern, Norwich, 26/3/2016. Lots of caramel, some borderline barley wine notes because this is a bit old and UK distributors suck. Nice bold Ethiopian coffee. Clean brewing from De Proef. Drinkable stuff. Nice beer!

From my backlogg: Bottle in London 2014. Hazy amber beer with an offwhite head. Hoppy grassy coffee aroma. Similar flavour with some Ashes and sourish notes.

Pours a medium amber with thin beige head. Aroma is coffee and some piney hops. Flavor is roasty coffee, medium body with a little creaminess. Kind of weird for an IPA, finishes with some bitterness but is mostly a thin, light, coffee stout.

Very nice IPA, even though the coffee doesn’t really show up. Pours cloudy orange with thick ivory head. Aroma is orange blossom and other white flowers, alongside honey. Creamy, full-bodied, with interesting metallic tinges and a persistent and sheer bitterness.

Definite coffee/husky aroma along with fruity notes from a slightly hazy golden/amber body with a foamy and long lasting white head. Sweet, overripe fruit in the taste followed by a light coffee acridness and pungent, earthy hops. The flavor then mellows out a bit and becomes more tea-like. A bit of milk and bittersweet chocolate follow this. Everything then seems to fade except for a pithy, earthy bitterness that sticks to the tongue and keeps growing. I fear that I held on to this beer too long and it was probably much better and more interesting a few years ago when I purchased it.

Bottle (BBf 08.12.12). Beautiful dark, reddish amber with a large beige head. Aroma of dates, figs, and raisins. Hints of cocoa and coffee too. Flavour is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, and dried fruits. Coffee is also present, though subtle and mixed in with finish leftovers of bitterness. Aftertaste is very much about the coffee. Even though this has gone beyond its best before date, this is still a very great beer. I just wish I had a previous rating lying somewhere, but my backlog is spread over a ton of notes lying around in boxes, and I’m not sure I’ve rated it before. Oh, well....someday maybe.
