2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 BBB63 (5411) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAY 25, 2012750ml bottle and served in no-nik pint glass: Pours deep golden hue with a huge arse head that left rings of lace upon the glass. (I honestly expected this beer to be darker than this)... The aroma, yep piney and dank hops with grapefruit and pepper esters, mild biscuity and very faint roast that I guess would be the coffee if I imagined it hard enough. The taste is again hop forward with plenty of pine and herbal overtones along with moderate citric flavors. What coffee character there is on the palate is in the form of cheap instant crap, that edge of coffee flavor tastes utterly fake. What an waste... Now as far as the IPA side of the house, it is nice single hopped brew but hardly displays the character that would make me ever want to buy this again. Nothing more a gimmick and I am knocking down the overall score because of that!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Guyute_Pig (94) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Bottle. Pours a cloudy, deep orange with a 1 finger head that quickly dissipates. Not much on nose, a little caramel and coffee. Taste is pine forward with the right amount of city roasted coffee, that’s right my palate can discern the roast profile bro. Awesome lingering bitter finish. When I first heard of coffee ipa, I was like no way. It truly works very well together, really fucks up your palate in a good way. Enjoyable brew I would happily buy again.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 VsXsV (1225) - Linköping, SWEDEN - MAY 7, 2013
Draught. Hazy copper liquid with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, fresh coffee, grass, pine, mango, biscuit and grain. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of coffee, citrus, mango, pine, biscuit and tangerine. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Worked better than I thought it would.

Not entirely unpleasant, but not great either. Strange funkiness alongside the coffee.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BenH (1359) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 21, 2013
Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a ridiculously big foamy off white head, eventually settled down. Aroma of cold coffee, citrus, grapefruit, slightly piney. Similar taste, cold coffee, citrus and pine, little soapy. Medium body with a bitter and slightly sticky finish. Can’t decide if I like this and I’m not sure that it works particularly well. I feel it would be better without the coffee. It’s alright though
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chimpgibbon (33) - edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 17, 2013
Slightly surprised at the colour of this on pouring. Initial head had a yellowy tinge to it. Cloudy amber colour light malty hoppy aroma. Hint of toffee. Slightly excess carbonation for me and a lighter taste and body than i’d expected. Muted hops and malty. Sorry no coffee. Bitter hop finish and hides its abv well. Weird and slightly boring for this brewery.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 danlo (350) - Durham, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2013
330ml bottle. Hazy orange amber colour, bubbly off-white head that diminishes and floral, hoppy caramel aroma. Fizzy caramel malt taste, spicey orange & slight coffee notes with an earthy bitterness that lingers. Light bodied, highly carbonated, dry finish. Quite OK.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jmohno (836) - Iowa, USA - APR 14, 2013
Hazy mild amber, heady -foamy.Very well carbonated.
Nose is dry mildy woody with some sweet fruit undertones, very slight roast, with slight toffee.
Taste is malty dry some dry oakiness, seems like roast malts in finish barely, othewise I wouldnt know coffee was really in it. Farily hoppy moreso in taste, seems pretty belgiany also.Could possibly be pretty aged. The bittering seems to mute any coffee presence. I just taste a fairly hoppy beer with maybe a roasty(roast-malt like) not coffe like, edge to it. Very faint mocha like off and on though.Seems belgiany though not shure if its supposed to.Possibly infected? Its pretty heady and carbed. Its pretty good though. I liked stones/2 bro colaberation of Daytime more.Although a strange beer.
