maneliquor (3460) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 4, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown with a small yellow head which quickly disappears. Nose is loads of citrus and milk chocolate. Reminds of orange flavoured chocolate. Taste showcases the citrus and chocolate notes. Quite balanced. A touch of piney hops comes through. Not too bad. A little light on in mouth feel but goes down nicely. jesperhammer (3449) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 10, 2012
10-MAR-2012, bottle @home, from "Ølbutikken". Pours very dark brown, almost black with huge beige head that lasts and coats the glass. Very hoppy nose. Grape fruit and pine. OK, some roasted notes as well, but hops dominate. Same with the taste but the roasted malts are more evident, thougt. A touch of coffee and chocolate combined with the very strong hop profile. Fantastic brew.

Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some caramel and light roasted malt, light tropical fruitiness, piney - citrus hoppyness. I got kossed by Papsoe with this 330 ml. bottle. Thanks H! It pours a murky dark brown with a large tan head. The nose has a bit of light pine and anise. The flavor has some pumpernickel, rye, anise, and that pine note. A little maltier than most of the black IPAs I’ve tried, but I like it. It seems to move it a hair closer to a porter and that’s okay with me. Delightfully different.

Bottle, 33 cl. Unclear brown with an orange hue and a frothy beige head. Fruity aroma of grapefruit, peachs and tropical fruits. Some biscuity notes too. Flavor is sweet malty, some roasty notes with hints of licorice and cocoa dancing tete a tete with a heavy dose of fruity and light grassy hops. Dry bitter finish, easy drinkable.

Bottled. Pours deep brown with a red glow and a large tan head. Nose of roasted malt, citrussy hops along with notes of coffee and chocolate. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily textute and soft CO2. A good and solid black IPA. ★★★★

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 18.12.2013, 0,33l bottle sampled @ BBGTC Christmas tasting:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, old hops, dark malts, wet leafs, soil, grass, citrus peel, alcohol. Taste is slightly harsh, dark malts, old hops, wet leafs, pine needles, soil, grass, citrus peel. Longlasting bitterness, a little thin body. Fair enough, has probably faded a lot.
