I got kossed by Papsoe with this 330 ml. bottle. Thanks H! It pours a murky dark brown with a large tan head. The nose has a bit of light pine and anise. The flavor has some pumpernickel, rye, anise, and that pine note. A little maltier than most of the black IPAs I’ve tried, but I like it. It seems to move it a hair closer to a porter and that’s okay with me. Delightfully different.

330 ml. bottle poured in to a tulip. Very dark colour, almost black with a big, beige head. Hoppy aroma with grapefruit, sweet tropical fruits and roasted malts, notes of licorice. Light to medium sweet before a nice, roasted bitterness kicks in. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Finishes bitter with roasted malts. Very nice black IPA.

Bottle, 33 cl. Unclear brown with an orange hue and a frothy beige head. Fruity aroma of grapefruit, peachs and tropical fruits. Some biscuity notes too. Flavor is sweet malty, some roasty notes with hints of licorice and cocoa dancing tete a tete with a heavy dose of fruity and light grassy hops. Dry bitter finish, easy drinkable.

Dark brown body, light brown head. Aroma nas nice rcsiny happiness wih crisp maltiness. Some Choco and Some medicine. Flavor is bit grainy and sharp malt and some roasted fruity hops. some liquorice. Not balanced which for me is a bit turnoff.

(33 cl bottle from Kommunal Øl Service) Pours dark brown bordering on black with medium, toffee head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is a very floral hoppy with notes of grape fruit(?) and a subtle, dark edge. More nuances but difficult to detect among all the smoking youngsters. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation and a long, bitter finish. Taste is dominated by fresh bitterness.

Bottle from Kihoskh. Pours dark brown with an enormous head, I guess because of the white platic cups. Aroma is very hop forward with citrus and pineapple, roasted malt presence with chocolate and coffee. Piney notes and zesty grapefruit also. Taste has sweet fruity hoppy notes, oranges and mango, a good deal of bitter coffee notes, a hint of chocolate. Very bitter on the palate. Good black IPA.
