330ml bottle. Sligtly cloudy, orangey golden to amber colour with average, firm, frothy, moderately lacing, off-white head. Fruity aroma has notes of passion fruit, peach, tangerine and lime, grassy, bitter hoppy overtones. Taste is bitter hoppy with fruity notes of orange; sadly an unpleasant bitter almond notes flashes up in between, presumably in combination with the the warming and biting alcohol; lasting and slightly biting bitter hoppy may be influenced by the high abv also.

Smallish offwhite head. Clear amber body until I poured the dregs in. Full toffee raisins and nuts aroma with earthy alcoholic notes. Intense sweet toffee and syrup taste with resiny notes. Full-bodied. Sharpish, hot mouthfeel. Bitter resiny fruity aftertaste with syrupy toffee notes. Lingering wooden notes. Age has mellowed this into something thatís not exactly easy drinking, but neither is it offensive. Very full of flavour, and not exactly balanced. (0.33l bottle, I have no idea where from. BBD July 2023.)

Cloudy orange color with white head, hoppy and malt aromas. In mouth, caramel, honey and citrus, sweet, thick creamy texture, strong but surprisingly well hidden ABV

APPEARANCE - Opaque, cloudy, no head, some lacing, amber. AROMA/SCENT - Hops, sweet, pine, malts. TASTE - Hops, bitter, pine, nutty, caramel, brown sugar, bread, toffee MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Thick, no carbonation, smooth, creamy, warming, heavy, syrupy. VALUE - $7.99 for 12-oz bottle. Good deal for import? OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - ABV surprisingly well-hidden. I wish there was a bit more carbonation, but what do you expect at ABV 14%?

Bottled. Drinking this 02/24/15. No idea what the bottling date is. Pours clear orange ruby color. Small white ring of lacing. Aroma is like a really hoppy barleywine. Lots of heat from the 14%. Sweet sticky toffee, some fig and date notes, maybe a bit of burnt sugar, honey, some citrus (orange), grapefruit. Very complex aroma. Flavor is hoppy, boozy, lots of toffee, fig, vanilla notes. Bitter finish. This drinks 100% like a barleywine. Hoppy finish. Reminds me of 21st Amendmentís lower da boom (which is a favorite of mine). Iíve been told this drinks like aged DFH 120. I have never had DFH 120, but thatís supposed to drink like a barleywine over time. This is exactly that. Great beer.

June 20th, 2013 - Hereís a Double IPA thatís like a delicious, Danish breakfast in a bottle. Why? The aroma chockablock full of tasty early morning ingredients: caramel and sweet apple (pancake toppings) and the very underrated American cereal "Apple Jacks." For the more natural breakfast food consumer, thereís also a nice sliver of mango in the aroma. The flavor brings more carbohydrates, including rye and buckwheat pancakes, and something uncharacteristically breakfast: a heavy booze notes. The aroma and flavor deliver very different experiences, but I enjoy both, and regret seeing the "Retired" tag here.

Tuoksussa runsaasti appelsiinia. Todella voimakkaan humaloitu maku; jonkinlainen humalan saturoitumisraja lienee jo saavutettu. Korkea alkoholipitoisuus jšttšš suuhun hieman suolaisen jšlkimaun.

"The Mikkeller version of a 120 I guess, though this seems at least a little closer to an IPA. Smells of citrusy and floral hops, along with a healthy dose of sweet biscuity malt. Quite sweet and moderately bitter flavor. Candied citrus and a bit of pine or evergreen. Feel is full, and a bit sticky. Well carbonated and good head for such a strong beer. Alcohol definitely shows as this is very warming, but not hot for the abv."

Cloudy orange color. Fresh hoppy. Intense burning alcohol following fine with the heavy hop flavor and high bitterness.
