On tap at Frisco Taphouse & Brewery in Columbia, MD Opaque, opaque brown-black with large, creamy cocoa-tan head and phenomenal lacing that stays clinging in thick rings around the class. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, cocoa, toffee and spice. Taste of sweet roasted malt, cocoa, a gentle smokiness and an even gentler hot pepper kick. Overall, sweetness, dark malt and cocoa dominate in that order. Medium/full body and low carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown nearly black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, almonds, carmel and light chilies. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a lightly warming finish. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, chilies and black beans with a smooth lightly warming lingering milk chocolate finish.

Bottle. Pitch black with a sense khaki head. Nose is heavy on chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Taste keeps those elements and has a nice dichotomy of sweetness from the almond milk and spice from the chili. Earthy hops come into play later on. Palate is smooth but has a lively carb. Awesome and complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Black beer with huge brown head. Aroma dark chocolate and roasted malts, some grassy hopps as well. Taste roasted malts and some chiliburn beneath. This beer was quite a surprise to me as I had expected an IPA type of beer, this is most of all a porter type. I guess the chili is the reason why it´s caracterized as a spiced beer.

Thick rust-brown head, quite stable over deepest brown beer. Some pepper (chili) in the nose, but mostly coffee and black chocolate. (USA) hops peeping through. Bitter - (lightly) hot flavour, with lots of black chocolate, especially retronasal. Cocoapowder. Heat is especially backthroat, but compared to most of these chiliconcoctions, quite reasonable and balanced. Finish shows some smokiness, especially after some time. Feels very spritzy, very carbonated. Obviously quite sharp MF; feels thick as well, but not really full-bodied. As said, in its category quite good, ranking amongst the best as the Millevertus Saxo Chili.

Bottle. Absolutely opaque pitch black. Thick, sturdy, frothy brown head. Strong roasted malt, dark chocolate, spices, coffee notes and burnt caramel. Light smokiness as well. Taste is big roasted malt, strong chocolate notes, cocoa, spices, caramel, soft smoke, hints of vanilla and an odd "herbal" note. I say herbal because it doesn’t really have a spice taste and I’m not sure what else to call it. Body is surprisingly full and chewy for a 6.6% ABV beer with a strong, dense carbonation and very light heat from the spices. Ends with more spices, big roasted malt, dark oily coffee notes, bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, burnt caramel, slightly burnt chocolate cake, faint smoke and faint vanilla.

Thanks to Ben H for this and then another from Papsoe. Dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is very slightly viscous with fine carbonation, a little dry. Rich dark malts, dry. Unsweet dark chocolate and a little coffee.Minty lime sort of thing going on but slightly vegetal. Dry finish with malt cream and a lingering malt aftertaste and a trace of hop. Another inventive and enjoyable beer from Mikkeller.
