Bottle, unexpectedly shipped from my father—thanks so much, dude! It’s an 11.2 FL OZ/331 mL bottle containing an inky brown-black combination with an ascending, amazingly fluffy mocha head, 4½. fingers in length which gradually sank to just 1½.. I may have to stand back the aromas are so intensely complex, but what I get almost immediate is: charcoal bricks, chili peppers (it most certainly teases the nostrils), cardamom spiciness (keyword here: "earthy"), chocolate almond milk (ironically, I had bought some recently and the nose is quite reminiscent of that), Dutched chocolate, tangerine peels (yes, there is indeed some citrus in this bitch, especially on the nose), wheat flour, cinnamon rolls/doughnut glaze, celery sticks, aluminum (oh, you know what I fuckin’ mean), Kero syrup, wormwood, anise, avocados (strangely, the avocado comes through in the aroma really strongly; didn’t think it would), pancake butter, pomegranates, roasted malts, brown sugar, and limeade. Tastes deliciously well-rounded, bittersweet, roasted, nutty, charred, and leathery with notes of chili pepper heat, almond butter, avocados, bay leaves, dark chocolate, burnt hay, and spent grains. Ends bitter and earthy; hops, spruce tips, white tea and bacon grease by swallow. Transformative! And I was starting to think that Mikkeller didn’t brew any beer worth good money. Fantastic fill!

Bottle(s). With fresh corn tortilla tacos. Pours pitch black with a beige head. A perfectly pitched chili aftertaste. Works amazing with real Mex food. Also great by itself.

Bottle to glass. Nose is very earthy. Dirty. Light vegetable. Nearly black with light brown head. Taste is minty, vanilla, cocoa. Lots going on but it doesn’t seem to come together well. Muddy.

Inky black pour with a thin tan head. Amazing nose of sour tart notes with roasty earthy cocoa notes, with some coffee and perhaps some boysenberry. Lovely flavor with some sour tones throughout and some light boysenberry/or blackberry tones, some coffee, tartness, lots of roasty stout tones, and a tart berry finish with a little coffee..just a little. Really nice.

330ml bottle, pours dark with a dark foamy head. Aroma is rich chocolate malt, wood smoke, chilli, zesty orange. Full bodied with a creamy texture, lightly sweet to start with balance coming from the smoke, finish ends with chilli heat, orange peel zest and mild bitterness. Carbonation is soft to spritzy. Excellent.

Bottle from work. This was a good one. Definitely spicy, semi lively Belgian style head, smokey, tar, peated leather, leafy and peppery but well balanced. Nothing going too extreme.

Pours black with a tan head. Licorice, black bean, cinnamon, chocolate, and spice aroma. Black bean, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, licorice, spice, chili and maybe avocado leaf (never had to compare) flavors. Medium full body and moderate carbonation. Black bean, chocolate and spice finish. Very weird.
