Cask at the Milkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours black with a big frothy tan head. The aroma is malty and fruit leading to a gorgeously smooth malty chocolate and liqourice taste. The 6% alcohol really adds something to this beer too. This is perhaps the best milk stout I've ever had.

"A little tiny bit rough at first, due to the bitterness of the cocoa and the carbonation, but i still liked it. Milk chocolate, roasted coffee..then it opens up and every aspect gets better and better. Deeeeelicious. Less milk, drinks big for 6%."

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2014 Bottle. Pours pitch black with tan, brown head. Nice lacing. Aromas of both sweet & dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee and vanilla with hints of milk. Taste is really sweet. It’s vanilla, milk, chocolate, slightly roasted and some coffee, medium bitterness (which is more coffe-ish rather than hoppy). Creamy texture, carbonation is just perfect for this one in my opinion. Really impressive sweet stout and another great beer from Mikkeller.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a thick light brown head. Aromas of smoke, licorice, milk, vanilla, slight fudge, some caramel, sweet chocolate, some coffee. Taste is pretty vanille up front, some sweet milk chocolate, slight smoke, slight roast, some malt and some dry bittersweet coffee in the finish. Not a bad milk stout but too thin for me.

3oz sample at Expo Cerveza Mexico 2014. Opaque dark brown with a lacey, frothy tan head. Dense, sweet aroma of coffee, roasted malt, lactose and just a hint of dried fruits. Medium to heavy bodied with moderate carbonation. Extra sweet and moderately bitter, with a strong roasted and dry fruit character. Robust, with a heavy bitter and alcohol feel. Perhaps too sweet and not too drinkable.

330ml bottle, pours black wth a tan head. Aroma is chocoate malt, coffee, vanilla, brown sugar. The backbone has a lingering sweetness that threatens to, but thankfuly doesn’t, take over the palate. Body is full, rich, texture is creamy, the finish is sweet but ends dryly and abruptly. Carbonation lively at first but settles.

Poured from bottle into snifter. Dark dark brown, almost black, with kind of thin but sticky tan head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is very sugary, and actually smells of milk. Taste is heavy on the lactose and also very sweet, but has some roastiness and caramel and coffee as well. Medium body with nice creamy feel. Pretty complex flavor. Very extreme for the style, super sweet and very toasty. Not at all thin or watery like a lot of other lower abv milk/sweet stouts. Probably my favorite beer of the style.

@ Beer tasting, Havregatan 15/7-14. Roasted malt, hoppy and heavy sweet, chocolate and coffee, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, bitter and sweet.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with medium coffee brown head. Aroma is soy sauce, prunes, sweet licorice, gravy and roasted malt. Taste is medium to heavy bitter, light acidic and medium sweet towards the end. The presence of lactose is evident. Body is creamy with soft lively carbonation. Finish is long and bitter, but sweet on the lips, with notes of licorice, soy sauce, lactose, coffee flavoured caramel drops (Kopiko) and faint ammonium chloride. Very well balanced and smooth.
