Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Very dark brown, near black color. Thin bubbly khaki head. Good ropes and bits of lace. Nice darker chocolate, some coffee, light dark fruit, lactose sugar. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation, kind of a chewier texture. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, light bitter. Decent milk stout, but a bit too sweet for me, like a lot of them can be. More hoppy and bitter than typical, though.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours black with a large, lasting tan head.
Nose shows cocoa, milk chocolate, hazelnut pralines and roasted barley.
Very sweet flavours, cloyingly sweet in fact. Some roasted malt behind the sweetness but very weak.
Needs higher carbonation, body feels watery too.
Too much lactose by far.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that sticks around for a while. Thereís also a lot of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet and milk chocolate, and some coffee. The taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also the addition of some vanilla. Itís a good roasty and sweet tasting beer. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit slick, creamy and easy to drink. Itís also well carbonated. I think itís a good brew overall, Iíd like to try this one again at some point. $5.99 a bottle.

Bottle to tulip. Slight roast and moderate chocolate. Opaque with a full brown head that lingers and crawls slowly down the glass. Flavor of chocolate and slight roast with overt sweetness. A little floral flavor as well near the finish. Moderate low bitterness.

The first Mikkeller beer I ever tried was an abomination with chipotle peppers, which I particularly hated. This Milk Stout was as appallingly presented, but the product was a true masterpiece. Thick, creamy, dark brown with a creamy head that could be taken with strawberries. Aromas and flavours of malts and chocolates, with that milk stout sourness and the perfect amount of bitterness in the end, never herbal, but just roasty. Hats off to these guys.
