Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, bourbon, dark fruit, yeast and brown sugar. Flavour is caramel, bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit, yeast and alcohol.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with an off-white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, oak, liquorice, and dark fruits. Flavour is bourbon, vanilla, oak, and dark fruits.

Wet tobacco, light pepperiness. Brown ale body, touch of sedimenty cloud. Frothy tan head. Tickle of chalky sourness, peppery edge to middle and little bourbon before the finish. Taught and dry but not terribly boozy. Not close to the Red Wine vibe at all.

Bottle, Sighthill Tasting

Bottle shared at Bruce’s 30th Birthday Bash - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Jack and his drunken impulse buys! Pours dark brown with a fine beige head. Rich raisins in here. Big sweetness, some alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately warming to finish with dry raisins and dark bread. Very good stuff overall, even if my rating doesn’t reflect the goodness.

Bottle at oakquinox 2013. Brown pour, with an off white head. Heavy barrel character, bourbon, raisin, caramel, a bit of chocolate, and a strange sour apple acidity. Not great.

Bottled@vPBFII. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is bourbon, some raisins, toffee and roasted malts. Flavour is vanilla, raisins, ripe fruits, sweet malts, alcohol and also quite roasted notes.

375 ml bottle @ WPBF 2013.
Pours a dark brown colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts, bourbon and some caramel. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, bourbon, grassy hops and yeast. Full bodied and oily mouthfeel. Finishes sweet, bourbon-like and yeasty. The raspberry version was much, much better. This one is way too yeasty and messy.

Pours dark red color with a small head. Aroma of dark berries, yeast and fruits. Flavor of caramel, malts and sweet fruits. Medium carbonation.
