Quadrupel barrel aged on Bourbon barrels. Nice malty taste with notes of dark chocolate and dark fruits. The barrel aging gives a nice warmth from the alcohol as well as a nice aroma of vanilla.

375 ml bottle @ WPBF 2013.
Pours a dark brown colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts, bourbon and some caramel. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, bourbon, grassy hops and yeast. Full bodied and oily mouthfeel. Finishes sweet, bourbon-like and yeasty. The raspberry version was much, much better. This one is way too yeasty and messy.

Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Sour wet wood and emulsion paint nose. Not great! Smooth palate, airy with mild carbonation. Milky bourbon, trace of sourness. Whisper of paint. Soft semi dry finish. Okay, a bit clunky.

Bottle. Dark brown, cloudy pour with a very small, of white head. Aroma is full of bourbon oak, with a background of molasses and milk chocolate. Flavor is very sweet, full of slight smokey bourbon notes and light alcoholic. Slightly watery mouthfeel, yet full flavored and nice to drink. Great brew, mouthfeel could be better though.

Bottle @ Oakquinox 2013. Bourbon and oak aromas up front with some notes of chocolate, caramel, and dark fruit. Strong alcohol and solvent character, however. Lots of green apple, too. Hot alcohol flavor and lots of chemical/solvent notes. Sweet caramel, dark fruit, and mild vanilla. Decent bourbon and wood flavor with a green apple peel note on the finish.

Mahogany broen with good 2 finger goamy head that is long. Realy strong malty aroma has lots roasted caramel, bit coffee, dark bread, suryp, bourbon. Medium body, light feel, lots lots bourbon that lingers in long finish, bit tar, seasalt, low carbonation. Lots of personality and bourbon flavor.

38cl, as Monks Brew (aged in Bourbon Barrels), new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2012, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, woody/malty and slightly alcoholic/spicy, not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, rocky head, good brew, yet expensive!

Bottle, 375 ml. A clear-looking dark reddish amber beer topped by a dense, small, dark beige head. Booze soaked raisins, vanilla, oak, booze, generic fruityness and white wine. Raisins, vanilla and oak, booze, chocolate and a generic fruityness in the flavor. Dry, soft and maybe a bit low on carbonation. Lasting boozy finish with lots of raisins and oak. Quite lovely, but a bit too much, especially on the booze. 130306
