COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel barrel aged on Bourbon barrels. Nice malty taste with notes of dark chocolate and dark fruits. The barrel aging gives a nice warmth from the alcohol as well as a nice aroma of vanilla.

Bottle @ Bruce’s birthday tasting. This was a drunken impulse purchase. The pour’s deep brown with a small khaki head. The aroma’s rich bourbon, plenty of wood and vanilla, hints of raisin and caramel. Mild Christmas spices (ginger, nutmeg etc). The taste is more bourbon heavy dark fruits, chocolate cake. Rum raisin ice cream. Chocolate cookie. Rich, full body, a bit hot. Overall, a nice effort.

Pours a red-brown color with an off-white head. The aroma has a ton of bourbon in it as well as some roasted malt. The flavor is heavy on the whiskey with some chocolate and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; brown pour with carbonated fizzy brown head, big bourbon tones in the aroma, like other BA bourbon beers this doesn’t do it for me maybe I just don’t like bourbon i’m going to avoid in future.

Bottle at Bruce’s 30th birthday bash. It pours deep brown with a small light head. The nose is light roasted, caramel, dark fruit, berry, jam and toast. The taste is caramel, roasted malt, toast, spice, dark fruit, light tanginess, wood, bourbon, earth and toast with a dry, lightly warming finish. Medium-full body and average carbonation. Drinks at its abv for sure. Decent.

brnandersen (1866) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2013
375 ml. bottle poured in to a trappist glass. Dark brown colour with a dense, creamy tan head. Sweet and fruity aroma with candy sugar, overripe, almost rotting fruits, figs and resins, bourbon barrels, vanilla, Belgian yeast and an alcohol note. Sweet taste. Full body, oily feel, soft carbonation. Finishes sweet, fruity and spicy with alcohol and yeasty notes. Good and complex brew however, lacks a bit barrel character to be excellent.

A - Dark black with a touch of brown around the edges and a finger of frothy khaki-brown head. Fades normal. T - Sweet dark caramel malts, vanilla, plums, raisins, dates, other dark fruits, Bourbon, oak, Belgian yeasts, clove, other spices, candi sugars, booze. M - Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet, spicy, warming finish. D - Really nicely balanced Quad with a great mouthfeel. The Bourbon barrel adds some great character.
