37.5 cl bottle. Pours pinkish brown. Light body. Fruity, malty, caramel, mildly sweet, with a light tartness and a big raspberry finish. Not much barrel character. More quad here than the bourbon ver and i liked this one better.

This beer was a mess to me. There was way too much funk in the aroma followed by a weird barrel smell. I did not find the base Quad in this at all. Even the raspberry taste seemed small and off. Maybe it is not a good combo.

Pours a dark muddy brown with a large tan head. Scent of sweet raspberries and chocolate. Solid mouth feel with good carbonation. Taste is sour berry cherry wrapped in chocolate. Finish is fruity sour similar to a sweet tart. Very unique brew.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep hazy brown coloured body with a thick, two centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of cherries, alcohol, malt, raspberries, yeast, caster sugar and a lot of oak and even some bourbon. Medium-bodied; Strong cherry and raspberry flavour at first that soon fades to chocolate, alcohol, malt, nuts and earth and ends with a sour grape and cherry flavour with a lot of complexity. Aftertaste is pungent with a lot chocolate flavours in addition to the oak/vanilla flavours, some alcohol and bourbon notes, but also a lot of sour cherry and raspberry flavours all coupled with a good malt backbone. Overall, a surprisingly (the ratings weren’t that good) good beer that sort of renews my faith in Mik beers - just too expensive and too many of them. Definitely nice to try, despite the lower ratings. I sampled this split 37.5 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-July-2012 for US$13.55 sampled at home in Washington on the 11th anniversary of September 11th, here overlooking the city and the Pentagon.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown pour with a small fizzy beige head. Aroma was heavy on the raspberry with notes of chocolate and a light roast character. Bits of oak. Flavors were intense. Lots of raspberry, bits of cocoa, oak and white wine. Syrupy mouthfeel. Tons of raspberry in this one, kinda grew on me as I drank it. Not bad.

375 ml bottle - pours dark brown with wild raspberry hints of red at the side and a beige head. Aroma is strange; there is definitely raspberry and chocolate but the vinious character of the barrels makes me remind of the tequilla barrel aged beer hop breakfast... it just doesn’t work gor me (the blondeaux however!). Overdone, to much pushing back. Strange. Poured it away.

Shared by Darrell. Thanks man.
The beer is dark brown with a lasting beige collar. The aroma is heavy on the raspberries, with additional notes of chocolate covered raisins, cherries. Chocolate and cherries. Raspberries too. Medium bodied with moderately low carbonation. Pretty sweet. A bit syrupy. Not getting a lot of wine characteristics.

Picked up at hunger mountain in VT. Enjoyed in a mini duvel tulip. Pours a murky dark red to purple color. Minimal dark purple head that fades fast. Tons of sediment. Grapes and raspberries. Oak and mild funk on the nose. Some sweet bready scent. Taste is big raspberry taste. Cabernet acidity and tannins. Burn in my chest. Finish is very much cooked raspberry purée. Medium body and carbonation.
