Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Light raspberry nose. Palate is light, airy and dry. A touch of that emulsion paint vibe that sometimes comes over in BA beers. Semi tart and natural tasting raspberry. Underneath is a wine tang and mellow wine flavours. Finishes semi dry. Almost a very god beer but that paint note is annoying.

Darky murky black, brown/red, medium head. Smells.. Loads of raspberries, maybe some plum, some oak/white vinous bits. Tastes.. Immediately berries, then plums or darker fruits. Slightly tart.. moves into oaky white barrel flavours and then caramel against some red wine tannin finish. Not everyone’s thing, but I really liked this.

Pours a deep murky brown with some red as well. Big raspberry aromas. Like opening a jar of raspberry jam and sticking your nose right on there. Flavours are also very nice raspberry. Tray and sweet. The finish definitely has Oak in it along with some red wine. Every once in awhile I get a hot of caramel sweetness. Very interesting brew. Not a lot of Belgian quad characteristics... but still a nice beer.

Golden plum pour with a creamy eggshell crown. Loads of raspberry purée, oak, vanilla, cocoa, red wine, and caramel in this one. Rich, robust, and incredibly flavorful. Really enjoyed this!

Bottle from Papago. Pours a hazy mahogany with a fluffy khaki head. Aroma is wine soaked raspberries and a bit of caramel. Taste is similar with the wine and base beer fighting. A little tartness. Medium bodied. Cool idea, but not executed as well as I had hoped.

Bottle @ Oakquinox 2013. Mahogany pour with a khaki head. Strong acetone aroma which ruins an otherwise good nose. Plenty of raspberry and wine. Nice oak, sweet fruit jam, caramel, grass, and a touch of vinegar. The flavor has some acetone notes to it as well. Green apple, balsamic vinegar, caramel, and tons of raspberry. Big jam character, toffee, oak, and wine. Would be a really nice beer without the acetone.

Bottle. Pours cloudy and particulate brown with a medium, fizzy light tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy raspberry, fresh and green though somewhat ripe, with vinous oak notes, toast and biscuit malt with earthy yeast notes. Flavor is fresh raspberry, cookie and caramel malt with dark malt derived notes, light peppery alcohol, no hops or bitterness with dark fruits and a dry finish. Medium-full body and medium carbonation with light alcohol warmth, and no creaminess or astringency.

Bottle. Pours hazy brown with tan head. Smells like chicolate raspberries, very desserty. Tastes very chocolatey, nice light sourness to it, very raspberry. The sourness is a really nice contrast to the chocolatey fruity sweetness. I think it’s delicious. Really good.

Bottle pours a medium brown with a beautiful fluffy beige head. Interesting aroma of wine, raspberries and dark fruits. Taste initially sweet grape Jolly Ranchers but after a couple of sips became an awful sour berry/wine vinegar mess. Palate thick and full. Finish sour.

I don’t think this was infected, it was just bad. Palate, aroma and appearance all top notch but the flavor just didn’t match up. I drain poured half of it.

This beer had some serious potential, but everything was just cranked up too high. Too much alcohol, too many raspberries, oxidation and tannin-like flavors. I tasted NO hint of a quad at all. I honesty couldn’t see a "good" bottle tasting much better, but if it’s just a case of hit or miss... This one is a miss. Thanks for sharing OmegaX - it certainly was an interesting beer nonetheless.
