Wow! Deep ruby pour with an effervescent tan head. Aroma is raspberries, tart cherries, vinous. Lots of raspberries. Flavor is similar. Raspberries give way to wine and oak. Huge layers. Amazing beer.

Deep red brown with zero head. Aroma is full on raspberries. Some light sourness riding across jammy summer fruits. Petty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A dark brown with plenty of creamy head. The nose is amazingly fragrant raspberries with some dryness to it. Fresh and light, a little tart, with lilting sourness and sweetness. Some base woody notes and mellow plum jam character. The finish is smooth with some real potency that I would hesitate to call bitterness, that makes my tongue curl up at the back. Amazingly drinkable and light at 10%.

Bottle into a goblet. Pours a deep brown with a big light tan head. Big raspberry tart aroma. Taste is stone fruits, tart raspberries, wine, sweet chocolate....this is good. like a raspberry chocolate cake. gonna go chug the rest of this bottle now.

Pours mahogany into a tulip. Tan head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Caramel, raspberry and oak aromas. Dark pit fruit and chocolate upfront turning to oak before the lasting tart chocolate-covered raspberry finish.

Bottle. Pours opaque brown with a large tan head that has long staying power and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is obvious raspberry with some woody and vinaceous notes as well. Flavor is medium sweet, raspberry, wood, wine all play a role. There is some lactic tartness present as well, which becomes more prominent toward the finish as the sweetness drys out. The raspberries dominate the rest of the quad notes one would expect, but if you ignore the style it is actually a pretty tasty beer.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2014 Bottle from Cornelius. Thick pulpy looking deep red. Lovely subtle fine bubbled lacing with a good zing to it. Big bruised boozy red fruit aroma, lots of raspberry. Supremely satisfying taste. Fruity, sweet, tart, zingy, snd utterly without being over boozy for the abv. Raspberry, complex vinous aftertaste. Pretty much does what it says on the tin. One of the best beers I’ve had easily.

"Dark prune colour and brown head. Strong malty, dried fruit, yeast, banana, milk chocolate and cherry aroma. Taste is a nice dried fruit and yeast with a touch of sour tartness. Overall quite nice and rather unique." That’s what I wrote before I realized this was the wine and raspberry aged version, which makes complete sense now as it had an unusual flavour for a quad - the tartness I noted comes from the raspberries and wine.

This straddles the existential line of what a beer "is," in a DFH manner, but really doesn't succeed. Dark ruby color, fairly carbonated. Taste is strong raspberry tartness and sweetness on a thin wine base. No complexity here; it reminds me of a wine cooler. Mikkeller swings for the fences with each beer they brew; here they hit a foul ball. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark reddish brown with some sediment and an off-white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is raspberries, vinous, dark fruits. Flavour is raspberries, berries, and oak – with a dry and tart finish.
