Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Red amber colour. MOderate bitter flavor. Barrel present not fantastic. Messy moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate and very fizzy. Winebarrels dominating over raspberry. Weird beer abd way too expensive.

Aroma is great tons of raspberry and yeast. Pour dark brown with a large light brown head. Tart and malty with a lot of raspberry flavors. Not a easy drinker big funky notes and a lot of alcohol present but still good beer.

Bottle from Brusin Ales - pours a muddy brown with no head. Aroma has some understated tart raspberries. Solid, but a bit subdued, might be because I aged it for a year?

Bottle from Brusin’ Ales. Pours brown with a thin brown head. Big booze notes on the nose with some tartness as well as some raspberry as well. A touch tart on the tongue which is nice with a touch of wordiness. Not bad.

Pours hazy brown with low light tan head. Aroma of raspberries, redcurrant, light bretta. Taste is light raspberry sour, with balancing barrel sweetness. Light to medium, creamy body with average carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Aroma is raspberries, caramel, and chocolate. Appearance is murky brown with a thin tan head. Taste follows aroma but is a bit sour on the end. Medium body with low carbonation. Overall very good but a little heavy on the fruit.

Bottle @All My Vinyl Tasting, Edinburgh. Pours dark brown with an off white (cream) head. Smells like a million raspberry’s crushed up and reduced to the size of a glass. Its just so intense. Taste is all raspberry as well but is much more sour than i would have expected from the smell. Its nice but its almost off putting just how sour it is.

Bottle at home. Pours murky brown, no head. Massive raspberry aromas, chocolate and dark sugars. Taste brings a woody note, alongside lots more fruit and a finishing sourness. Very nice.

Bottle from Portland. Pours a dark brown with red highlights. Modest and short-lived head the color of bruised peaches.

The aroma is really out there, strong and inviting, offering raspberry chocolate truffle that recalls Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock, along with a pure raspberry intensity like raspberry sorbet. Brown sugar. Aged barleywine. Oak. Red wine cork.

Unfortunately what is tantalizing and curiosity-inviting in the aroma comes of as a muddle in the flavor. It is as if this one cannot decide what it wants to be. Somewhat more sour than expected from the aroma. Tannic dry red wine leads the raspberries, vanilla oak, chocolate showing up late to the party, not as much brown sugar character as expected. For once, a raspberry beer that I think would work better if somewhat more sweet than it is. Obviously an interested beer but no alchemy here; it’s a $15 experiment that didn’t really work out.
