What a fun experience this was. Met some nice people to talk beer with at Mikkeller Bar in Stockholm and bought this for all of us to try. I might be wrong (what with having been to Belgium and all) but I think this is my first raspberry flavored beer? Anyhow, it was a joy. I could really see myself becoming a brewer and then making this beer, just for me! I wonít go into all the flavours, itís too complicated for me, just want to say, gorgeous beer!

Bottle @LinkŲping Beer Expo 2013. Aroma with loads of fresh raspberries, fruit acid, raspberry jam. Tastes of freshly picked and sugared mature raspberries, lovely. Finish is long and woody with wine- and raspberry notes.

Thick, pale-ochre head with a pinkish sheen; nearly black beer with red reflections. Awesome explosing fruity-vinous aromas upon pouring, like old (fruit)wine of exceptional quality. It might not have many facets in terms of complexity, but itís both so integrated and overwhelming, that itís absolute top. Raspberries, wood, fruitish sourness, touches of (other) red fruit, chocolate, and finishing on again vinous, wine notes, displaying volatile, rare higher alcoholesters. Very titillating, Champenoise-like carbonation; fruit-filled with a litte acidthinning; resulting in about-medium bodied beer, very refreshing despite the alcohol. Mikkel (and Dirk, I suppose), this is yet another MeisterstŁck. Itís awe-inspiring.

Iíve been aging this for about a year and a half. Loved it originally, and tonight decided to see how itís holding up. Dark brown, medium carbonation. Aroma worried me a little, thought I picked up a little bandaid. After sipping it for a while the aroma seems much frutier and pleasant. Intense ripe raspberry flavor, more than I remember. A little barnyard tartness up front, then tons of rich, dark berry flavors, with just a little syrupy sweetness. Itís just so good. Hard to compare from a fleeting moment years ago, but Iíd say this is aging extremely well. Will try again in 6 months or a year.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Kick-you-in-the-head raspberry aroma. Tart raspberry and chocolate taste upfront with a tangy citrus and oak white wine finish with a lingering oakiness on the far back end. Thick sticky palate. Interesting brew.

Pours a deep brown with red tones... almost like a burgundy color... but not quite. The head is medium sized and sticks around for the long haul.

The aroma is big and sweet and weird. Loads of brown sugar, plums, molasses, rum, & oak. Rich smelling and certainly not like almost any beer aroma Iíve ever experienced. Itís lightly funky with some red wine but lots of dark fruit,

Itís hard to even do justice to the flavor of the beer, straight out of the cooler it was boozy, a touch too boozy... but with warmth that mellows, and what remains is a layerd complex beast of a beer that consistently gives one pause to think about everything going on. Brown sugar, rum, red wine, fig and plum are sort of all working together well while the raspberries provide a tartness and work playfully with the light funky and sour character of the beer. The oakiness is ever-present but not overpowering or even all that dominant. The beer is mildly sweet but well balanced. Things are just sort of working harmoniously here, and the beer is just so unique, complex, and yet so pleasing. One wishes to savor the bottle, but alas it goes too quickly.

Wow! Deep ruby pour with an effervescent tan head. Aroma is raspberries, tart cherries, vinous. Lots of raspberries. Flavor is similar. Raspberries give way to wine and oak. Huge layers. Amazing beer.

Bottle shared. Pours deep ruby/brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma is very fruity, red fruits, raspberries, then some molasses, caramel, chocolate, toffee and grapes. Taste is light sour, moderate sweet and light bitter. Long fruity finish, some alcohol. Very very well balanced. Normally quads arenít my thing, but this one is beautifully done, the barrel aging and raspberry additions work amazingly well. Top notch.
