Ingredients : Water, malts (pils and pale), candy syrup, brown sugar, hops (northern brewer, hallertauer and styrian goldings) and ale yeast

Un gout d eau de source me domine les sens. Elle est légère pour une bière foncée . Elle se déguste avec plaisir !

Aroma of booze, brown sugar, nuts, molasses, typical quad yeast character, figs. Taste has much of the same. Finish is cleaner than expected. Makes its easier to drink lots...

Draft to taster. Looks good; a fairly transparent dark amberish brown with foamy light beige head. Smells of dark fruit and Belgian yeast. Some discernible raisin. Tastes like it smells with a surprisingly smooth mouthfeel for the abv. More candied sugar than raisin on the tongue, but still well balanced. Enjoyable.

330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a murky caramelly brown with good-sized, lasting light tan head. Aroma is big candy sugar, dried fruit, caramel and spices. Flavour is quite sweet with lots of candy sugar, raisin, cherry, caramel, a little chocolate and a bit of spiciness. Carbonation is quite lively. Nice beer.

Bottle from Mogwai Mat & Bar. Smell is not very inviting, though sweet and fresh. Pours brown with a small beige head. Taste is sweet and easy. Some raisins and a hint of malts. Palate is a bit to easy for a quadrupel beer. Overall a good alternative for many of the more famous trappist beers

Aroma has notes of caramel, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet with a average fruity finish. Some molasses there too

Smells great candi sugar, dark malt, sweet and earthy hoppyness. Hazy dark brown with quickly dissipating head. Tastes nice, upfront candi sugar and brown sugar hits the palate, finishes mineral and sweet without being too cloying. Not much hoppyness in the back end, alcohol noticeable during exhalation through the nose. Medium carbonation/body. Not super complex but a quite well balanced quad.

Nice stout head here sits atop dark copper with some red flickers. Aroma was a little muddled and individual notes are hard to decipher. A little clove, marzipan and alcohol. Bereft of Quad’s usual dried fruits. A little dull. Convincing dry, full bodied feel to the palate > What you would expect from higher abv. Some soft dried fruit but suppressed by more maltiness. It feels more Strong Ale and Quad. Very little yeast character. A little one-toned and tiresome.

Drank with Marijn and Rik at Riks place. Okay beer. Tastes not that much like Westvleteren etc in my opinion, not that sweets. Has some hints of a black IPA. Fine beer, not great.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, caramel with a thin, off white head. Aroma has creamy, sweet notes of candy sugar, caramel, toffee, dark fruits, and raisins. Taste is a big sweet. Dark fruits, caramel, and a bit of a tartness. Almost a medicine tinge. Medium-full body and carbonation. Slightly syrupy in the mouth but pretty clean. Overall tasty but with a tinge at the end. Dark fruits and caramel with a hint of medicine/tartness at the end. Will age a few to see how ot develops.
