30-OCT-2014, bottle @Papsø smagning, @Amager Bryghus.
Almost clear mahogany. Aroma is very fruity with caramel. Taste not nearly as good. Could this have been very hoppy once? Still very interesting. Very malty, sweet. Thanx, Papsø for sharing such a treat:-)

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear orange amber pour. Medium sized vast and thicker creamy lemon vanilla colored foamy head on top of an almost clear red ruby colored beer.
The aroma is quite complex. A mix of honey, toasted tea herbs and leaves, tea ish malts, some caramel, some autumnal herbs, hint of mint, watery prunes, light creamy and a sprinkle of toffee and figs.
Aroma is a bit strange but strange is not bad. It’s quite nice actually.
Flavours of tea herbs, chalk, caramel, herbs, honey, light bitter, some malts, bitters, floral, some weak old hops and caramelised pils malts.
The flavours are less interesting and less balanced than the aroma.
Aftertaste is a mix of lots of hebs and floral tones with tea, bitters, toast and malts.
Low carbo, silky oily mouthfeel, medium body and a creamy texture.
A strange beer which I think is quite unbalanced has strange ingredients and is quite weak. Sorry but next to the fact that this beer is retired, I wouldn’t drink it again.

Bottle 50cl from Henrik thanks. A cloudy amber beer with low head. Nose is on strawberries and ginger ! Aroma is fruity and spicy, grassy, ginger and violette touch, floral, blackberries notes, herbal, quite unusual and near to some cervoises. Anyway very bitter, ok.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap, hazy orange pour, medium to large off white head. Lacing was impressive. Aromas and taste of wet paint, asian pear, grass, light pine, and some other weird notes. Not as piney as I would have liked.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Really odd...I thought it might be very hoppy given the name...it’s possible there were no hops at all. On tap at Paradiso Dupont, pours translucent brown with small white head. Light body with a lot of forresty flavors: pine, wood, tobacco....taste like the deep woods. I thought it was pleasant, but very odd.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Monk’s Kettle. Beer pours an amber color with off-white head. Aromas of hops and pine as well. Pine flavors really come out on the flavor, and it is quite disjointed. Some other fruitiness from the hops on the finish. A unique beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Also known as The Big Hunt for Pine. This was an 8 ounce sample on tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. The aroma has some sweet plastic notes, but not in the pool toys sort of way. Pretty fruity with some yeast esters present. modest graininess, too. Moderately hazy amber body with a smallish khaki-colored head present. Starts pretty fruity and lightly sweet. Some tobacco-ish malty hints are present in the middle, before an astringent herbal-spicy bitter finish. A unique beer, but it seems to work flavorwise. I believe this beer is very similar, if not same as the beer that the Moonlight brewer brewed for NCHF 2009 that used no hops and redwood tips.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours amber in color with a finger of white head. A rather strong green apple aroma to this one. A hint of spice and some bready malt. There is a little bit of acetone, too. The flavor has a strong character or bread and toffee, but also a lot of the same green apple that was there on the nose. A bit of a spruce/herbal note, too.
