COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Nelson Sauvignon is a New Year beer it is fermented with ale yeast, brettanomyces and enzymes. Then it has been aged three months in Austrian white wine casks. Very dry, very vinous and very delicious.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with three fingers of sticky eggshell foam. The nose is very vinous with lots of barrel character, brett, grass, pine. On the palate its a lot of the same with nice complexity. Ripe grapefruit, touch of acidity, fresh grass, honeyed malts and a bit of horse blanket funk to round out the palate. Nice beer.

Not my kind of beer, but a is a must, a candy for a child. Strong peach and grape notes, well balanced, with some grassy notes.

Hazy appearance (surprise, surprise) and a peachy amber colour and an aroma that suggests unripe peachy fruitiness. Fulsome in the mouth with a good dash of sweetness, apricots, white peaches and a little bit of tang. It was much cleaner than I expected and dangerously easy to drink. There was a whole lot to like and a lot more depth that I was expecting. Lovely stuff.

Tap@Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen - amber/copper coloured pour with thin white head. Medium sweet malty and fruity aroma and taste, crisp with some citrus floral and bretty notes, some grape and wooden nuance, some mild spice, very enjoyable brew.

Tap at Mikkeller Bar, Stockholm, 16th March 15. Aroma vinous, the Brett sourness come through. The taste is clean and well balanced, loved the Brett, citrus too. Want this again

Great beer. Brett is evident but does not dominate the flavours. If anything the oak which comes through. Quite dry.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2015 Bottle thanks to Alemax. Labelled as Nelson Sauvin But. Pours mostly clear orange with quickly settling off white head. Aroma is funky, barnyard, cheese, citrus, oaky, buttery. Subdued citrus and piney hops. Flavor is mildly sour, citrus and mellow pine, fading into fruity, vinous, oaky and buttery finish. Mild oaky and tart aftertaste. Soft carbonation, medium body, crisp texture and dry finish.

Shared Bottle. Amber color with thick white head. First aroma kick is full of Nelson Sauvin hops, than it follows with herbal, fresh, citrusy, almost champagne like/wine aromas. Taste is really strong, first sip is also full of Nelson Sauvin, followed by hard herbal bitterness, spicy, wood, almost wine notes. Dry, medium body with light abrupt finish. Long aftertaste. Enjoyable beer, I would try it again when possible for sure.
