COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Nelson Sauvignon is a New Year beer it is fermented with ale yeast, brettanomyces and enzymes. Then it has been aged three months in Austrian white wine casks. Very dry, very vinous and very delicious.

Shared Bottle. Amber color with thick white head. First aroma kick is full of Nelson Sauvin hops, than it follows with herbal, fresh, citrusy, almost champagne like/wine aromas. Taste is really strong, first sip is also full of Nelson Sauvin, followed by hard herbal bitterness, spicy, wood, almost wine notes. Dry, medium body with light abrupt finish. Long aftertaste. Enjoyable beer, I would try it again when possible for sure.

75 cl bottle, generously shared by Peter. Amber with a small creamy, thick head. Aroma has a lot of Nelson hops at first, followed by a lot of freshness, citrus and lemon, some tartness as well. Taste has once again, loads of Nelson hops and is in addition to that peppery, spicy, woody, has white wine notes and light herbal bitterness. Light to medium body, spritzy carbonation and dry mouth feel. Dry white wine like after taste, slight alcohol as well.
A pricey beer but shared on 3, it’s well worth it. Refreshing and really tasty!

Bottle at home from Cotteridge Wines (£24)
Lightly hazy burnished gold with rich gooseberry, slightly funky with esters, moderate carbonation, full bodied, fruity full on nelson sauvignon flavour, catty, dank gooseberry, citrus perfume, rich yeast esters, warming and pithy bitterness with a long winey finish. Excellent

Bottle. Aroma very intense, fruity, maracuja, grapes, very fresh, very inviting. Clear golden colour. Taste nasterfully combines three elements - exotic maracuja hoppiness, subtle white wine barrels and bubblegum bretty funk. Top league.

Tap at Mikkeller Viktoriagade. Pours clear orange amber, small head. Aroma is insane tropical fruit and Sauternes, with mango, dank lychee, Brett, durian, peach, honey, and faint pine. Taste is fruit and honey at first with some dry Orval-like character through the middle and then finish of pineapple and sweet white wine. Syrupy but with some effervescence, and alcohol is well hidden. Impressive.

75cl bottle. Pours an orange amber with a big frothy white head. Aroma: Wow! this smells crazy good! Exotic peach, mandarin, grapes, galia-melon, funk, dry brett, pomelo, hops, papaya, passionfruit. Man this is a fruity fellah! Taste is fruity sweet at first, but turns dry with bitter brett, funky fruity tartness, pepper, wine grape sourness. So much taste, Lovely body as well! Well done!!

Tasted on 11/11/11 from a capped 750mL bottle with Ryan. Pours cloudy burnt orange with a very thick beige head that slowly recedes to rocky lace. The nose is very fruity and vinous with tons of grapefruit, funky barnyard brett, and just a touch of caramelized malt. The flavor is a bit more caramelized and bitter than the nose, with the fresh grapefruit, vinous notes, and barnyard brett funk all nicely balanced. The body is medium with an oily texture, average but very smooth carbonation, and a long bitter grapefruit and brett funk finish.
