COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Nelson Sauvignon is a New Year beer it is fermented with ale yeast, brettanomyces and enzymes. Then it has been aged three months in Austrian white wine casks. Very dry, very vinous and very delicious.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2013 Bottle @ Il pretesto. It pours golden orange with a tiny white head on top. Very fruity with orange hints... and then there it is the sour! But never covering the global complexity. A great beer!!

On tap @ Bishops Arms Linnégatan. The genius of this beer came as a complete surprise to me. One sip, and I started asking myself wheter this was a modern version of Orval, or maybe a new beer from the Dolle. It’s funky, tart, sweet, fruity and hoppy at the same time (and in a way that only the breweries mentioned above has managed to brew before). It’s super complex, and very very drinkable. Notes of black currant (a lot!), brett, wood, vinous bitterness, orange, citrus and christmas spices. Smooth.

750mL bottle, pours a beautiful vibrant opaque orangey amber with a voluminous white head. Aroma is very vinous and yeasty, with loads of brett-like yeast, sauvignon blanc, dry lemon and orange zest with a bit of fruity notes. Flavour is incredibly complex with an amazing balance of dry white wine, brett, dry fruity notes, lemon rind - so much depth and balance, with strong lasting flavours. The barrels accentuated the complexity so expertly. Damn delicious.

One of the best, most refreshing and overall interesting beers i’ve ever had. Being a big fan of Nelson hops (and Simcoe) i was vey excited to try this mixture out. Deep orange color with a foamy off white head leaving lacings, nice. Aroma was really wonderfull. Its had all the intense grape and sweet citrus mix of the nelson, but unlike many ipas (where i usually get my Nelson fix) its wasnt toffee/caramel that balanced it out, but Brett! Its turned out to be extremly refrehing. The yeast added a nice acidity to the bitter and cane sugery sweet flavor. Also has some freh underripe fruity notes that came through in the end. Great great beer overall and much better than the un-barrel version i tasted on the festival.

Carbònic molt fi, com d’escumós gran reserva. Notes àcides, amargues i dolces. Complexa i vinosa. Final sec.

Doftar blomster - rosor, maskrosor. Örter och vitt vin. Härligt bubblig och uppfriskande. Ganska torr finish och tyvärr lite kort men bara Lite kort eftersmak. Slutsats; god som in i bomben!

From tap, numerous times, @Mikkeller Bar. Pours a near-clear dark amber, with a lace of tiny beige bubbles on top. A pleasant hoppy smell of tropical fruits hit the nose at first. Then some fresh floral and perfumey yeast notes. Also a subtle, but noticable vinous and oaky aroma from the white wine barrels. Taste is awesome. Complex and fully balanced. Superdry, restrained malt body. A light sourish fruitiness, reminiscent of mix bag tropical, black currants and oranges. A fresh vinous note, with a hint of vanilla and wood. Fruity bitterness for balancing. Nice soft and sparkling, champagne-like carbonation. Medium body strenght. Crisp, dry and perfectly rounded ending. Very moreish, and dangerously easy to drink. This beer is a gem.

For my money the best beer Mikkel has ever created. Loaded with nice grapefruit taste but even more fresh juicy peach. Like those really bright orange peaches. Lightly tart, some tannic quality. Easy to drink for a big beer.

Had my first glass at CPNbeerfestival. Wonderful amber color, thin head. Impressive notes of brett, citrusfruity flavors, hints of vanilla. This continues in the taste aswell. The balance of flavors is excellent. This is the anwer to winedrinkers. This is a well made beer in the true geuze style, but this one combines acidity, sweet aroma’s almost perfectly. All the time there is a interaction of fruits, acid, malt. Best beer i had for a long time. Will never forget this experience.
