Bottle from Beersínímore. Orange: Check. Porter: Check. Yuzu? Well, never heard of it. I can find tangerine, lemon, orange, grapefruit. Very refreshing, with that bitterness of a grapefruit on the tongue. Refreshing and light while still showing off the porter roast. Good.

330ml bottle from Brewdog shop. Small tan head, good lacing, dark black body. Nose is orange, coffee, chocolate, smoke. Flavour is orange zest, charcoal, coffee, chocolate. Aftertaste of bitter orange. Medium carbonation, mouthfeel is full and a little rough. Great porter base, malty and smoky, the yuzu adds complex notes with huge citrus overtones. Really unusual beer but it works so well.

8%ABV. Porter. Tapped out black. 40ļSRM. Nose had some spicy aromatic notes reminiscent of curry powder or powdered chili. Mouthfeel was soapy. Palate had porter flavors of deep roasted malt, black bread and Swedish rye bread. Spicy oily yuzu and citrus peel flavors are layered over this malty base quite aggressively. Overall a very complex, thoughtfully put together ale, so one where itís going to rate highly but not make the list for me. Thanks for the ride though, Mikkeller.

Pours an opaque dark brown with brown, finely-bubbled head. A: Musty orange, pineapple, stale chocolate, vague hints of plum or fig, dark cherry, and dank bakery. Each taste goes through an evolution. Bright citrus fades to semi-bitter dark chocolate eventually ending with some kind of wormwood or earthen bitterness. Above average carbonation helps elevate the drinkability in an otherwise rich and complex porter.

Bottle courtesy of anstei. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is tart yuzu, surprisingly, the yuzu is really recognizable, itís not just "generic citrus fruit", some dark roasted malts in there, not blending together with the fruits perfectly. Taste is roasted malts at first, then the yuzu comes in and gives some sweetness and some tartness. The finish is much drier than I would expect from the flavours. Carbonation is fine-bubbled, but comparably high, the mouthfeel is quite foamy. Confusing, but quite good!
