UPDATED: FEB 22, 2013 Bottled. Pours nearly black with a medium sized tan head, leaving a good lacing. Nose of roasted malt, coffe, chocolate, mandarin ond citrus zest. Sweet flavor that ends up dry with a light bitternees. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to flat CO2. A nice and interesting special porter. ★★★★

Lovely pour, dark tan colour with light beige head, good retention. Didn't like the taste though, something a bit cloying about it, won't get again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Black body with a creamy beige head. Aroma of burned malt, fresh citrus fruits (Yuzu I guess, never tasted one), raisin or plum, licorice. The taste is like a blend of a porter and juice - in a way that works. The sweetness of chocolate playing well with the juicy fruits, roasted malt, dry plums. Good bitter aftertaste, this is one that works out really well!

Bottle. Pours deep brown almost black with a thick beige head. Pretty lacing. Nose is confusing, perhaps this was a little too cold? Aromas of dark chocolate roasted malt, coffee, toffee, bittersweet chocolate, yeast and the slightest orange note. Taste is amazingly well balanced. Lots of chocolate, toasted malt and black strap with really nice orange, orange peel and key limey hints. Not as overloaded with citrus and orange as I expected. Subtle beauty and balance. A really well thought out beer. Body is on the lighter side of what I typically expect from a porter. Nice round mouthfeel with good carbonation. Mid-length roasty finish. A solid beer that presents a balance that requires true skill, which Mikkeller never runs short on. Yes indeed.

Brouwerij (889) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 14, 2014
Bottle thanks to Alemax. Pours very dark brown with pillowy tan head, settles in minutes with stringy lace. Aroma is citrus, tangerine, orange peel, with a toasted, chocolate backbone. Flavor is citrus up front, with a roasted, toasty, toffee malt, toffee, chocolate finish, mildly citrus, toasted aftertaste. Surprisingly has some balance despite the strange combination of ingredients, reminiscent of a Chocolate Orange candy. Moderate carbonation, medium body.

Bottle from Party Source in February 2013. Pours a dark brown to black colorwith a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some roasted malt with an interesting orange citrus note that has a mild tart character. The additional chocolate and mild coffee notes work well with the citrus. Not usually a big fan of citrus with the other roasted malt and chocolate notes, but this is ok.

Flaske 0,33l drukket i heimen 4 Jun 13. Gave fra Rune: Takker. Kullsort. Veldig høyt mokkafarget skum. Kremaktig. Varer lenge og lager nydelige filigranser. Herlig kaffe- & lakrisaroma. Smaken er lakris. Holder seg litt syrlig. Litt tørr i avslutninga. Litt bunnfall. Fulgte ikke helt opp førsteinntrykket.

Dark brown with a big creamykhaki head. Aroma is roast, done pithy fruit, slight anise. Very easy drinking, pretty standard porter but with a nice citrus bite
