A really Flavourful American pale ale. Nice fresh hoppy and fruity aromas. Same flavour profile where the hops can shine without adding too much bitterness.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with thin unsteady head. Aroma of pine, tropical fruits, hints of caramel. Very nice. Taste is lightly bitter, refreshing. Highly carbonized. Finish is medium, bittersweet. Nice example of APA!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy enough orange body, soft ringed head. Nose is peachy, sweet, grassy and burnt crust. Initial taste is dry honey, flakes of citrus and a raking enough pith. Carbonation is firm, mouthfeel is a clean wipe. Tinselly bitter, oddly drying and weirdly cheesy on the finish. Linger is fairly uneventful path of rich lemon, spritzy hay and more bitterness. Solid enough.

33cl bottle, No. 990476, MHD stamped by Braufactum for shelf life in their fancy cooler: 02/2017* - Lovely sweet citrus blossom nose, pear, quark, gooseberry on sirup, stopping short of Brewdog C-hop air freshener. Drinks slightly watery, like a typical PoMo cleanly engineered on-style APA with a thin wafery malt base as an excuse to load up on what goes over like freezedried C-hops. Lemongrass and lime peel reign. Neutral finish. - - * price-stamp: €3,49, making this my one-off contribution to Oetker’s pastiche colonisation of craft beer culture in German supermarkets: in Mikkeller’s host nation surrounding De Proefbrouwerij, after a double game of DK export and BE re-import, their bottles manage to sell in supermarkets for €1,99 (granted, without the fancy cooling). Seems like Mikkeller has circumvented more than just the German Pfandsystem here and with this partnership is aggressively targeting an impulsive "premium audience" for this modestly clean session APA, which at this artificially elevated monopolist ransom creates a sad elitist pricing precedent for new German-brewed session ales.

.15l pour from tap into cylindrical tasting glass at Mel’s Craft Beer in Vienna. Hazy, light orange, decent white head with great lacing. Nose is citrus and biscuit. Medium body, creamy, and smooth. Taste is clean, a little bready, with a hint of orange on the end. Very well done pale ale.
