3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JanLaursen (2160) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2013
Bottle, 75 cl, at home. Deep dark, hazy amber with a huge, frothy beige head. Nose is toasted caramel, light vinegar, mild citrius. Very smooth, almost creamy texture, lively carbonation. Taste is sweet caramelish and light bretty, leading to long, light acidic finish. Paired nicely with the monkfish cheeks, I had yesterday, but I think the alcohol is a little too prominent for this to work on its own.

Bottle @ CPK. Cheers to Monsieur Scopey! The pour’s deep red with a medium off-white head. The nose is s big punch of brett. Some cobweb, marshmallow, and associated brett (to me) aromas. Light apple and strawberry pie. The taste is strawberry, mild caramel, orange peel. Light acidity. Some Greek yoghurt and pillowy bretty. Mild general spice. Medium body, easy to drink. Overall, a decent fix if you’re in the mood for brett! Not bad.
