UPDATED: SEP 23, 2012 Tap at Ørsted Ølbar. My Mikkeller rating #100. Very dark brown, reddish hue, small coffeebrown head. Peculiar cherry-scented sweet malty nose. Flavor is sweet malty, light roast, chocolate, sweet spicy vanilla, bitter finish. Nice and very drinkable, but kinda odd. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of sweet malt, chocolate and a hint of cherries. A dark brown pour with a mostly lasting tan head and nice lacing. This is, overall, a sweet porter. Chocolate is the predominate taste. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, while an enjoyable porter, it is sweeter than I normale like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Subtle, refined and balanced. Creamy chocolate and coffee nuances, with a mild bittersweet note and touch of smoke. Simple, yet well made. Smooth mouthfeel, with expansive, silky carbonation. Good, not great. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

Very dark brown, very creamy and lasting tan head. Very creamy, chocolate covered raisins, dark fruits and humous. Very smooth rich taste, great amount of flavour. Very impressed. So nice to see a plain, un experimental beer from Mikkeller some time. And it’s awesome! (At the De Molen tasting)

50cl bottle at the molen monthly tasting. Small tan head. Clear dark pour. Chocolate in the aftertaste. Very smooth. Very nice brew.

Huge chocolate nose pretty much dictates everything that comes thereafter. . . but the thereafter is a really excellent version of "the classic porter." Might be a little on the stout side of porter-- all the oatmealiness and cocosity you could want-- but the really nice dry finish, and clean sweet notes really make it work. I wouldn’t have liked it if the mouth feel were any thicker, or the consistency any more syrupy but the balance here is really impressive, for such a smokey, malty porter. Glad to finally get a "dark" beer from Mikkeller that lives up to the reputation-- very excellent porter, this one.

Poured a bit too cold with a smallish, thick, tan head that soon settled and some lace. Color is an opaque black brown. Aroma is an aromatic malt, roast, dark ripe fruit, cocoa. Flavor’s much like nose, bittersweet up front followed by mild carbonic tang. Body is good, but carbonation seems a tad flat. Finish is very long and boozy. All taken together it leaves me without much desire for another .5 liter bottle.

Bottle shared amongst friends. Very much like a typical imperial porter, no thrills. Chocolate and malts up front with a hint of peanuts on the back end.

On tap at Friscoe Grille & Taproom in Columbia, MD. Opaque, near black with 2-finger brown head and excellent lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and smiley roasted malt. Taste of sweet, rich chocolate, roasted coffee, molasses and dark roasted malt. Medium/full body and medium/light carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
