Draft at Beer Temple. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, some dark fruit and a little vanilla. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Simply a great example of the style.

Just a porter…nothing crazy or experimental, no catch nor gimmick with this one :) Although brewed unfortunately at Amager Bruyghus of whom I am not the biggest fan. 50 cl. bottle consumed @ Delirium Hoppy Loft where it seemingly sarcastically refers to the initial remark which I lovingly got there by being called Porter Porter on the menu. Another Keith Shore design, meh – this kind of nouveau, post-kitsch pop art stuff doesn’t really appeal to me as usual. Pours a serious black with a non-lasting towering mocha head. Smell is vinous coffee mixed with heavy burned coffee grounds, strong roast, viscous, somewhat boozy. Taste is bitter coffee grounds, bitter vinous coffee, very strong bitter coffee grounds, raw, liquorice, touch herbs, grounded coffee, touch mocha, burned toast, touch hops & booze in the back. Vinous, sludge melted mocha ice-cream mouthfeel. Reminds me a bit of the impression that Gonzo once made on me which was the first beer of its kind of me & the beer that got me into the whole thing. Raw & over the edge, this is way less than that memory made Gonzo out to be but it does make me think back. Not too bad.

500ml bottle. Black Coffee Colour, thin tan head that doesn’t last. At the end you see elements of proteins or yeast. Aroma is roasty, burnt and woody. Medium sweet taste, roasty with subtle notes of hops. Easy to drink despite the 8% ABV. Really nice and smooth Porter.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2013 500ml bottle- feels and looks bigger somehow. Glossy tar pour topped with a deep grey-tan mousse. Aroma of chipshop batter, plum, palinka, slight toast and prunes. Thick, black custard mouthfeel; notes of iron, schwarz, blackcurrant, Twiglet. Light burnt bitterness to finish. Sugar puff sweetness bittered, burnt and smeared with plum/blueberry. Some charred almond and black cherry hinting at the ABV. Fine porter.

500ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger and a half of light brown head that retains well and leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and chocolate with some dark fruits and a hint of brown sugar. Taste is chocolate and brown sugar sweetness with a little tartness from the dark fruits and a roasted grain and hop bitterness in the finish. More malt forward, but still decently balanced and quite a tasty porter.

Bottle at home (BOE) 24/12/12. Pours mid black with a frothy tan head that clears to a bubbly edge and leaves a swirl of a film atop the glass. Nose is roast malts, milk chocolate, a little vanilla and a touch of dark fruits and sugars. Taste comprises roast malt, chocolate, touch of coffee, molasses. maltesers, hint of liqourice. Full end of medium bodied, fine carbonation, fairly smooth on the palate a little roasty bitterness in the finish. Decent stuff.

Pours a beautiful dark brown with a light brown head. Coffee, roast, and licorice in the aroma. Flavor has coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roast. Roast coffee bitterness, smoke, and alcohol in the finish. This is an outstanding sipper.

näyttää siltä miltä porterin kuuluukin. läpinäkymättömän musta ruskean beigellä vaahdolla joka on juuri sopivan voimakas. säilyy huntuna oluen päällä aktin loppuun asti. tuoksu on paahteinen muttei kovin voimakas. hedelmä yrittää päästä läpi mutta jää taustalle paahdon dominoidessa. tuoksu aukeaa selkeästi voimakkaammaksi loppua kohden. maussa paahto jatkaa dominointiaan. suutuntuma jää vähän ohkaiseksi prossiin nähden mikä onkin oluen pahin puute. oikein hyvä portteri mutta se jokin jolla huiput erottuu hyvistä puuttuu.

500ml bottle. Pitch black color. Medium size head appears, diminishes to small head rather quickly. Coffee, roast, plums, creamy, oily, malty notes in aroma. Buttery, roast, coffee, chocolate, alcohol in flavor. Nice juicy roast in aftertaste. Slightly crisp.
