Bottle shared amongst friends. Very much like a typical imperial porter, no thrills. Chocolate and malts up front with a hint of peanuts on the back end.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - AUG 14, 2012
Very dark brown, very creamy and lasting tan head. Very creamy, chocolate covered raisins, dark fruits and humous. Very smooth rich taste, great amount of flavour. Very impressed. So nice to see a plain, un experimental beer from Mikkeller some time. And it’s awesome! (At the De Molen tasting)

Bottle from Reston Wine Cabinet. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. A bit of roasted on the nose. A bit thin on the tongue. Flavor fades as it warms. Solid but not spectacular.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a very thick head. A little bit bitter, with a fair amount of roasting in the nose. Taste has a little bit of coffee in it with just a hint of sour. Interesting...

16-JUL-2011, bottle @home, from "Fish & Beer".
Almost black with lasting light brown head.
Roasted with sweet coffee and licorice.
Lovely velvety mouthfeel. Bitter roasted malts, slightly sweet, a touch of hoppy bitterness. Fantastic porter.

Just a porter…nothing crazy or experimental, no catch nor gimmick with this one :) Although brewed unfortunately at Amager Bruyghus of whom I am not the biggest fan. 50 cl. bottle consumed @ Delirium Hoppy Loft where it seemingly sarcastically refers to the initial remark which I lovingly got there by being called Porter Porter on the menu. Another Keith Shore design, meh – this kind of nouveau, post-kitsch pop art stuff doesn’t really appeal to me as usual. Pours a serious black with a non-lasting towering mocha head. Smell is vinous coffee mixed with heavy burned coffee grounds, strong roast, viscous, somewhat boozy. Taste is bitter coffee grounds, bitter vinous coffee, very strong bitter coffee grounds, raw, liquorice, touch herbs, grounded coffee, touch mocha, burned toast, touch hops & booze in the back. Vinous, sludge melted mocha ice-cream mouthfeel. Reminds me a bit of the impression that Gonzo once made on me which was the first beer of its kind of me & the beer that got me into the whole thing. Raw & over the edge, this is way less than that memory made Gonzo out to be but it does make me think back. Not too bad.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2012 Tap at Ørsted Ølbar. My Mikkeller rating #100. Very dark brown, reddish hue, small coffeebrown head. Peculiar cherry-scented sweet malty nose. Flavor is sweet malty, light roast, chocolate, sweet spicy vanilla, bitter finish. Nice and very drinkable, but kinda odd.
