3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
State Line Liquors tasting. Pours a cloudy amberish orange with a very frothy, off-white head with ample lacing. Aromas are very piney, with tons of citrus sweetness, and some nice holiday spices. Flavors of orange peel/zest, grassy bitterness, that are well balanced with some sweet maltines and touch of cinnamon.

First beer of 2011! On draft at Rattle’n’Hum. Lots of rich, fresh hops as usual from Mikkeller. West Coast feel to the hops. A touch spicy and a little sweet. The wit character was pretty low key, but interesting. Very nice brew.

Draught from RH. Now that I’m reading its a red witte hybrid it makes more sence. Opaque ambery pour. Smallish thin head. Some citrus aromas and taste. A bitter tang with mild phenol to finish.

Magnum that I shared at my in-laws for Christmas. Purchased last year at Dave’s Bellport Cold Beer & Soda. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate-large off-white head that lasted nearly to the last sip and laced the glass well. Very pleasant aroma of fresh oranges, malt, spice and honey. The flavor is similar to the aroma and equally enjoyable with malt, spice, honey and some citrus fruit and bitterness. Mildly dry at the finish along with some moderate bitterness. Medium bodied. Very enjoyable beer and a fun bottle to share for Christmas!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Magnum Bottle from K & B. This beer pours a deep rich amber with a medium white head that dissipates quickly. The aromas are gingerbread, cinnamon, some citrus, and cake. The mouthfeel is sticky and a little dry with a medium body ending more dry than it started. This beer was not super heavy like a lot of Christmas/winter beers but had some good hops which gave it a little citrus on the nose and some dryness and a little bitterness in the mouth. This was a great beer! Cheers!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Poured clear dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex spice and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good holiday beer.
