On tap in a snifter. Pours amber with a lacy head. Aroma of caramel malts, some wheat and light fruits, a little spiciness, plus a lot of hops. Flavor the same. Strong on hops, not like most of this style. Smooth texture. A pretty good beer.

Aroma of substantial citrus and spruce with some caramel and coriander. Appearance was red with white head. Flavor has hops up front with some sugar, the malt is muted by the citrus finish. Palate is bubbly. Alright.

Bottle. Pours an amber like color with a white head. Aroma is nice and hoppy with lots of sweet citrus fruits like orange, tangerine and mandarin, some spice like coriander and clove, light breadiness and sweet malt. The flavor follows the nose some spice like clove and coriander sweet citrus fruit hop flavors like orange, tangerine and mandarins along with the sweet malt and light breadiness. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a really nice blend of styles reminiscent of Amber Ale/IPA and Witbier.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2012 1.5L bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Olutopas Pikkujoulu 2011) - shared by someone generous - thanks! (6:3:7:4:13=3.3)
6 Super sweet mandarin peach and toffee aroma.
3 Sludgy, but we were at the bottom of the bottle, after many pours.
7 Exceptionally toffee-ey taste, lots of fleshy fruits too.
4 Full, sweet, sticky body. Again, not aided by being at the end of the bottle, but if Mikkeller think it’s a good idea to put beer in bottles this size, they’ve got to expect people to judge it after it’s been tipped up 20 times.
13 Don’t get me wrong, this may have been unclean to the eye, and stodgier on the tongue than what the guys who cracked it open for, but by no means was this unpleasant, it was very drinkable. Covered the alcohol well.
Rerate: 1.5L bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn) (6:4:6:4:13=3.4)
From the top of the bottle this time - and it’s a lovely clear red. Apart from that difference, it’s mostly the same as before. Things related to teh slidginess are gone, and the toffee aspects too - this is drier. A real zingy bitter bite, but also smooth. Tasty - I like it, but it might be a little bit too agressive in places.

sampled 75 cl. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2011: A: deep hazy orange with seizable fluffy white head – S: delicious sweet american hops & touch on the sweeter side spices – T: Belgian yeast, oranges & citrus, fruity, touch of spices & hint malt, very hoppy, sweetness in the back, even touch “rijsttaart” in the finish, balanced, sweet & hoppy – B: dry & fizzy – delicious but more of an IIPA than a wit

Magnum from Asahiya. Cloudy reddish brown, nice head. Nice nose, hoppy, with wheat, some caramel, fruit. Very full bodied and warming. Sweet, but balanced well with hops. Nice bitter finish. Excellent.

Deep, clear, amber-orange with a big fluffy cream colored head. Lacing is pretty thick. Aroma of citrus, caramel, slight raisin and spice. Taste is sweet fruit, yeast and malt with a substantial finishing bitterness. Medium bodied, pretty full actually for the style, with lively, fizzy carbonation and dry. Nice rendition of a witbier, a lot hoppier than most, and for the most part, not even resembling the typical wit. It seems like more of an IPA with Belgian yeast. Merry Christmas to me.

Keg at Craft. Cloudy amber orange colour with small bubbly white head. Aroma is a touch spicy and quite malty. Bit of ginger too, and a bit cakey. Fruity too. Taste not as exciting as the smell, but nice and smooth, malty and a bit spicy. Bit of bitterness, especially in the finish. Fruit in there too. Towards the end it gets a bit boozy, but still lots of spicy fruit. Very nice.

Draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo. Orange amber pour. Orange citrus and Belgian floral yeast in both flavor and aroma. Nice fuller mouthfeel. Orange zest notes. Very drinkable and quite nice
