Bottle generous shared at DLD, apparently by 17thfloor. Amber pour with light white head. Aroma of fruits, caramel, citrus. Not what i’d expect from a xmass beer. Flavor is caramel, citrus, a bit of spice, a bit of wheat, a bit of orange peel. Pretty cool. Some herbal notes. Interesting beer, that’s for sure.

750 shared by 17thfloor. Nice murky darker amber, pour decent tannish head that dies to a film, laces ok. Aromas are a bit fruity, bitter floral hop, citrusy, nice with mellow malty sweetness. Initial is malty, a bit soapy, caramel and toffee pair with florals, grapefruit, a faint spice. Hops have died out, but the beer is still tasty and a bit more even keeled. Nice.

Magnum I shared at DLD 10. Probably should have drank this a when it was completely fresh but I didn’t have enough people around! Pours pretty murky throughout, straw color. Great Mikkeller IPA aroma, very citrusy and inviting, juicy with nice candy sweetness, love it. Flavor is a bit more oxidized, pretty good marriage, light spiciness, citrus fruit, bit yeasty, nice. Very easy drinking, well attenuated, lively fizzy carbonation.

Magnum @ RBWG. Pours an orange body with a white head. Nice hop presence i’m getting citrus, and pine with an underlying earthy herbal body. More hoppiness, light floral tones, with a grass y finish. Good stuff.

Had at RBWG 2010. Very hoppy aroma on this one and the flavor doesn’t disappoint. Malty, hoppy, very good.

Magnumbottle 1,5 liters from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Have had this on tap at Ørsted before and found it sooo dilicious and very unlike the traditional way of thinking Christmas beers - and thats cool. Lets expand the view on christmas beers in Denmark to be more than a belgian inspired dark sweet and heavy thing with orange peel etc - you know the stuff. Lets agree on hat a christmas beer can and should be something more and something else than that - just look to what they do in the states - Yulesmth for example. Well On to the beer. This one is bottled and is beeing served to some tradition danish stuff that also kinda belong to christmas time. Good old Medister Pølse. The pour is hazy dark amber with an impressive golden white head that is fluffy like head. A true beauty. The nose is citric with a lot of herbs and yeast notes. On top of that there a hints of some mango, grass and pine. The mouthfell is light with a medium creamy palate that is very smooth. Tastes of oranges and american hops with a fistfull of pine cones with an farm stables attitude. The finish is smooth and bitter and you sense the alcohol. For sure the best danish christmas brew 2009 in my opinion.

Amberish pour. Citrus hops, honey, and spices. Flavor is dominated by hops but has enough malt to balance it. Pretty good stuff.
