Massive Mikkeller pt.2 This is what I imagine a Christmas beer tasting like. Pretty much spot on christmas tree. Piney and earthy with hints of spice. Definitely different but pretty good.

1500ml bottle. Red White Christmas on Christmas day 2011- beer number 1500 , doesn’t get much better than this. A big thick beige coloured head head greets you and the beer itself is a bold deep amber, almost orange colour. Pine needles and orange peel dominate the aroma which is very pleasing. The flavour is very strong and stays in the mouth for a long time. Body is strong and leads into a very smooth and silk like texture. Aftertaste is piney. It took a few hours to work my way through this one but it was a few hours well spent.

This is the 2010 vintage drank with a year of age on it. The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma has some wheat and earthy notes, but there is also a leathery quality that reminds me of beers that have brett in it. Since I don’t think brett is in the beer, I am not sure what is going on. The flavor also has a leathery component to it. I also get a lot of Belgian yeast and earth notes, as well as some orange citrus. The alcohol is fairly well hidden. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not sure brett is accidentally in the beer or if something else is going on that leads me to get the brett qualities. Regardless, the beer was pretty good.

Pour out of bottle is hazy orange with slightly off white head, aroma has orange, pine, toffee, some caramel and biscuit notes, but a really hoppy aroma. Taste is also fairly hoppy with some big fruity flavors as well, orange mainly with pine and sprucy notes, touch of caramel and biscuit, finishes fairly bitter.

Si no ho saps, no t’ho creus que aquesta cervesa porti una part de blat. Bona textura, carbonatació y amargor. Gran cervesa.

Deep amber colored pour. Huge off-white head that sticks around for a bit, a long bit. Plenty of lacing. Big hoppy aroma with hints of pepper and malt. A little bit of a fruity/banana aroma. Hoppy flavor with a spicy backbone. Sweet and dry, a little on the thin side. But overall pretty decent.

On tap in a snifter. Pours amber with a lacy head. Aroma of caramel malts, some wheat and light fruits, a little spiciness, plus a lot of hops. Flavor the same. Strong on hops, not like most of this style. Smooth texture. A pretty good beer.

Aroma of substantial citrus and spruce with some caramel and coriander. Appearance was red with white head. Flavor has hops up front with some sugar, the malt is muted by the citrus finish. Palate is bubbly. Alright.
