33 cl bottle @ home. Pours clear amber with a little sediment and a white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour are citrus, orange peel, candy sugar, and pine - with a slightly bitter finish.

Large bottle. Aroma dominated by the hops with lots of grass and hay. Slightly unclear orange colour with white head. Spicy flavour with some orange and fresh hops bitterness. Not very Christmaslike but a nice Christmas present.

RBAG Summer Session. First beer of the tasting. Pours amber with a lacy head. Aroma of caramel malts, some wheat and light fruits, a little spiciness, plus a lot of hops. Flavor the same. Strong on hops, not like most of this style. Smooth texture.

On tap. Pours redish orange with off white head. Aroma is sweet rice, almost like rice milk, some milky lacto sweetness, rice pudding, sweet grains, almons, honey, some hops behind and a yeasty feel. Taste is very different. Alot more fresh with hops, citrus and grapefruit bit still the grainy sweetness from the aroma is there underneath.

THOUGHTS: Nice, but not Christmasy. Nice hybrid. Actually very nice. It kept getting better as it warmed. Orange, caramel and spice were the main aromas and flavors. TECHNICAL: Magnum bottle. Poured a cloudy, light to medium amber with a large, creamy, off-white head that mostly, but slowly, diminished and that left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate caramel and wheat; moderate to heavy pine, grapefruit and orange hops; light to moderate doughy, spicy and dusty yeast; orange; and coriander. The initial flavor was light to mod sweet, mod to heavily acidic and moderately bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet, mod to heavily acidic and heavily bitter with a long duration. There was caramel malt, wheat, lots of citrus, orange, coriander, pepper, grapefruit; some other fruitiness, spicy yeast and hops, and some metallic hops. The medium to full body was creamy, then dry with fizzy carbonation and a metallic and moderately astringent finish.

Big bottle. Hops, orange, light caramel on the nose. A little effervescent, long finish. Spices on the palate: clove, coriander, white pepper, pine. Lots of fruit on the finish, and not too sweet.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2013 Pours a amber color with a big white head and nice lace. Aroma is citrus grapefruit with some spice. Taste is very citrus and malty taste that has some sweetness. Great balances of hops and malts. This is one of the best Christmas beers you can get!

Tap at Lizardville, RR almost too much going on in this beer, with the orange and hop fighting for who is dominant, lack of coriander and full body that I expect from a wit
