3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
1500ml Bottle. The pour was a clear copper brown with a huge (3-4 fingers) cream colored fluffy head that had great retention and lasted throughout, reducing finally to a large cap with excellent sticky runny lacing.
The aroma was of a biscuit malt, pine hops and a sweaty yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit and orange peel), corriander and a touch of clove.
The taste was a bitter malty with a mild caramel sweetness and a hint of citrus from the beginning, the finish on the other hand became rather hoppy with a slight citrus peel bitterness and a bit of spice towards the end. The flavor lasted a good long duration following the swallow, with a bitter hoppy and a spicy sweet taste left behind to linger on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was a step or two past light in body with a mildly dry texture and a medium carbonation.
Overall this was an interesting brew for sure. Even though I really did not get much of the Witbier yeast flavor coming through, I did notice the slightly spicy citrusy flavor. But the Red Ale in this hybrid most definitely is the most dominant of the two...

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at 2013 Holiday Beer Summit at Roscoe’s. Fizzy dark amber color. Aroma is orange peel, nutmeg, coriander, and citrus hops. Taste is like a spiced mulled wine but with a citrus hoppiness and light malt profile, but with a much better mouthfeel and balance. Great hybrid.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing off-white head. Hazy orange body. Sweeet citrussy spicy aroma and flavor with a heavy shot of hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Long bitter finish. Alcohol well hidden. When I look of the former ratings I wonder a bit and think it is far too overrated. The Mikkeller brand is hyped, could that be the reason?

Draught @ Christian Firtal, Odense. Pours hazy orange amber with small off-white head. Clear, sweet aroma of fruit, malt, and caramel, with touches of cloves and cinnamon. Sweet, malty and caramellish flavour, with fruity notes and pronounced hints of spices. Lingering, warm and bitter finish. Nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Hazy amber color with generous head. The aroma is rather fruity, and hoppy. Semi-sweet flavor, there are some berries and some spices (coriander, cardamom and orange peel come to mind); relatively strong bitterness. As elegant as American beers can be.

bottle shared at the Asahiya Christmas party in 2012, 3350 yen for the magnum, I felt it was a great white beer/ipa hybrid which delivered on both. Bitter but flavorful, very nice

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12/22/2010: Mikkeller Red & White... Aroma: Almond, toffee malt, the hops are hard to define - leafy/herby. Appearance: Orange-amber color with a frothy beige head. Flavor: Sugary malt with a nice maltiness overall; earthy and almost herby; hint of peppermint/evergreen. Palate: Medium-bodied; soft and smooth. Overall: Hmm... tastes a bit like a candycane; a lot like DFH/Stone/Vicotry Saison Du Buff in many ways...
Draught at Dutch’s in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thanks for sharing, Tmoney99! Rating #266 for this beer.
