375ml bottle. Timmermans Flute glass. Enjoyed on jul´12 -funny no-planned tasting session in good company at the Freiburg- (Thanks to Robert -the best nose on this side of the bar- & Manolo –deluxe barman). Pours bright reddish amber, cherry-like to the light. Chill haze. White crown. Nice spots & fairly good retention. Aromas of rice, lactis, vanilla, berries & green almond. Funny sweet maltiness & raspberry hues. Low hoppiness. Gentle & refreshing sensation. Light body. Moderate to high carbonation. Watery but flavorful texture. Undelying warming alcohol masked by fruitness in the middle. Mildy toasted malty & sweet finish. Well balanced beer.

Bottle. Pours dark red, with a light, airy head. Aroma is sweet malts, fruit and vanilla. Flavour is very sweet, with lots of cherries. Easy drinking, but a bit too alcopop-ish.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2011 release. Pours lightly hazy reddish orange color with a nice 2-3 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Some decent spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of cherry skin, cherry juice, toast, biscuit, caramel, earth, nuttiness, herbal, and light yeast spiciness. Pretty nice and pleasant aromas, but they are a bit weak. Taste of cherry juice, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, caramel, herbal, earth, pepper, and yeast spiciness. Light fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, earth, herbal, pepper, and light yeast spiciness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of malty fruit flavors with peppery spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly slick, syrupy, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian style fruit beer. Nice balance and complexity; and very smooth to sip on. Very pleasant and enjoyable offering.

Draft at Railroad Street. Pours hazy brownish ruby with off-khaki head. Nose is yeasty spice, earthy cherry, backup hops. Tastes fruity, with a tart cherry flavor complexed by some funky yeasty and earthy notes, and even a tad of cinnamon late.

pours cloudy reddish-brown with a small foamy head, dispersed slow moving CO2 streams. A bit of fruity malt on the nose but rather muted. Sweetness (8/10) hits first, and then the pleasantly sour (5/10) tartness (3/10) kicks in, flavours of sweet red cherries, cream, which then transitions smoothly into almonds, vanilla, and medium malts. Finishes lingering soft bittersweet (6/10). Med-high complexity, med-high depth, great transitions, great carry, great drinkability. Excellent balance of sweet, malty, and nutty cream.

gramity (1530) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 6, 2012
Pours with a hazed pink hued body with a large and foamy white head. Aroma of fruit, cherries mostly, vanilla, a light bready malt structure and a lot of sugary notes. Flavors are pretty straight forward, cherry, light milk sugar. Fruity, pretty sweet. Maybe a bit nutty? Slightly oily/slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Kind of one dimensional fruit beer.

Pours pinkish-crimson with a diminishing tannish head. Smells of baked rye, pistachios, martini cherries and leather. Tastes of trail-mix, caramel, cherries, and DXM. Good but perhaps a bit too sweet for the style and my tastes.

500ml bottle in a flute. Pours reddish amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of cherries, caramel malts, and a good amount of floral hops. Flavor about the same, with the almond lacking a little. Average texture. A pretty good fruit beer.

Bottle from AJ’s Fine foods. Pours muddy with an inch of white foam. They use artificial corks which are a real pain to remove. Hints of almond on the nose. The almond is much bigger on the tongue than the cherry. The one who compared it to marzipan is pretty close. The cherry is much more prominent on the finish. Interesting but not my favorite Mikkeller.
