3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thewolf (9888) - Kolding, DENMARK - NOV 7, 2007
Tap @ Lord Nelson, Cph. Pours a deep red-brown that I practically can’t see through. Small beige film head. Aroma is kinda roasted, cherries, light chocolate, toffee and cloves. Oily mouthfeel. Flavour is yeasty complex. Chocolate sweetness dominates along with some dried fruityness, primarily raisins, cherries and plums (all rather ripe). Stucks to my teeth. Vinious with a slight sharpness. Aftertaste has light roasted caramel and delicate spices. Aroma is perhaps a bit underwhelming. This might be better next year, but it’s still nice. (where did you say we had 11 %, btw?)

Draught at Ølbaren. Dark brown with medieum off white head. Sweet aroma that has overripe fruits, coffee and toffee. Flavor is sweet with dark fruits, toffee and spices. Do I get some sourness here? Good balance with warming alcohol in the end. Very nice.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hickey (32) - Georgia, USA - NOV 4, 2007
On draft at the Lord Nelson. Fantastic beer overall. Slightly sweet with a taste that will remind you of christmas. the alcohol content is well balanced and does not come across as being 11%. Spicy notes with some fruityness makes for a pleasurable beer. Thick, rich head combined with a viscous, dark body completed the beer.

Fad. Dejlig julebryg. Sød mørk og stærk. Simpelthen perfekt til en kold vinteraften eller en god flæskesteg.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2007 Draught at Ølbaren
Dark brown look with a nice thick foamy light brown head. Very intense aroma! One of the best vinouse notes i’ve sniffed, very nice. Also has a good chunck of dark fruits, that mixes with the high amount of alchohol and brown sugar. Flavor is mainly sweet, intense dark fruit notes and subdued roasted bitterness. Will definetly recommend this one.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 petermadsen (390) - Vesterbronxxx, DENMARK - NOV 3, 2007
A dark brown beer with a fine, brownish head.
The aroma is filled with dried fruit, some coriander and hints of alcohol.
The flavour is of figs, plums, coriander, sweet malt and quite delicious. Ends dry and a little bitter...
The palate is actually a bit too thin for a beer this size. But a fine beer, never the less!
