Black color with brown hue. Good body structure, well mixed flavors, but nothing exceptional, some caramel, light chocolate, very light roasted malt…

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 Courtesy hopscotch. Pours black, with a tan creamy head, and nice sheets of lacing. Some candy sugar and clove in the nose. Lots of spices. Candy corn flavor, with some slight tartness. Caramel, banana also present. Soft medium body. Drinkable despite ABV.

750ml bottle cellared for about 7 months. Dark brown pour, nearly opaque in the glass with a medium head. Nice Lace.
Aroma was a mix of chocolate, roasted malts, yeast, prunes and peppery spices. Alcohol is well covered. Medium-thin body. Spicy aftertaste. This one might give you heartburn if you drink too much in a sitting.

Clear black color, brown head. Apple, spicy, yeasty scent. Rubber, sweet and coffee taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Lebkuchen-Geruch. Süßer Beginn mit Kräuternoten, hefig, etwas oxidiert. Nicht ganz rund, zuckrig, röstig, deutliche Holznoten. Zum Ende hintergründig alkoholisch, etwas Vanille. /10/9/9/9/9

Bottle courtesy of Gillard. Thanks Ryan for another Mikkeller brew that is hard to choke down. Pours dark brown with a one finger tan head that fades leaving some lacing. Aroma is very phenolic and reminisent of urinal cakes with spicy yeast, caramel, and roast in the background. Taste is spicy yeast, roasted malt, caramel, and spices. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and slightly warm alcohol. Not good.

The aroma has cola, fruit (cherries), toasted malt, and chocolate. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The flavor is not like the aroma. It has sweet cola but both bitter and random spices seem to ruin it. The palate is a bit thin. Overall I am not a fan of this one.

Sweet aroma of Christmas spices and pumpkin peter. No head. Sweet, but really flat and thin. Kind of lame, the abv is definitely hidden.

Near black, with a nice loose head. Stinging impy aroma with alcohol, burnt fruits and light chocolate. A little bit thin, boring with toasty and gutted chocolate malt character. The hops are high on bitterness due to a lack of residual sugars but yet they are sorely missed from the aroma. If Tim Horton’s did espresso, this is what it would taste like.
