caesar (2471), Zeist, Netherlands Jul 26, 2008 Bottled, thx to thewolf. Hazy brown color, short head. Spicy alcoholic aroma. Bit spicy taste, malty, slight sour, hint of raisin. Decent. awaisanen (1116), Irvine, California, USA Jul 19, 2008 From a 750mL Bottle. Dark brown, raisin colored pour with ruddy hues, topped with a thick layer of tight bubbled tan foam. Aromas of prunes, chocolate, and higher alcohols. Lots of dark fruits. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel. Flavors of prune, raisin, and hints of chocolate. Lots of dried fruit characters create a rich, dark flavor without any noticeable roast. Alcohol is much less noticeable on the palate than in the nose. A moderate level of bright pepper spice lingers in the final smack along with some tannic tobacco flavors. Clean, well layered flavors combine to create a cohesive, enjoyable drink. cbkschubert (1520), Skyline, Arizona, USA Jul 12, 2008 750 ml bottle from Plaza Liquors - Notes are a little vague. Pours a dark brown color with a nice size light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is esters and spice. Flavor is esters, light roasted malt, and spice. A nice beer, but took a little effort to drink the whole bottle. JK (2369), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Jul 7, 2008 Smooth palate. Aroma and flavor have fruit, there are figs and plums. Black in color. Sweet malt. Some sweet Christmasy spices. Very nice palate, thick and heavy. Snojerk321 (907), San Diego, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 750ml bottle. My first Mikkeller was a killer! Poured opaque with a giant wispy tan head. Nose of cocoa dust, nutmeg and other spices with some toasted malt rounding things out. Big bold chocolate flavor with some spiciness. A very full bodied beer.
