aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Jan 8, 2009 Pours an opaque dark brown with an everlasting creamy head. The aroma is cocoa and nuts (somewhere between hazelnuts and pecans). There is a faint bit of brown sugar and dark fruit as well. This isn’t mind blowing, but it’s pretty darn tasty. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2009 2008-12-19. Dark brown body with a modest tan head. Mildly alcoholic aroma, spice and something I can not quite place. Light floral and herbal notes. (7+) Flavour is modestly sweet overall, herbal spice character is more restrained than in the aroma. (To its benefit in my opinion.) Pleasant. Touch of bitterness at the back of the throat is sharp on some sips. (7+) Smooth average to medium bodied palate. (3+) Enjoyable but I expect the herbal character would become a bit much in quantity. Bottle shared by Tupalev mjs (1446), Helsinki, Finland Jan 6, 2009 (Bottle at Pikkulintu on 2008-11-27 - shared with Mave, thanks) Deep dark brown. Nose is very malty, spicy and some yeast is noted. Deep brown with a small toffee head. Flavour is a big roasted malt, some pitfruit, and a mild spice too. Medium bodied, very well balanced, alcohol is married with all the other good tastes and textures of this offering, great mouthfeel. Terrific! Stefano (1322), Esbjerg, Denmark Jan 1, 2009 Pours a very dark brown with a tall, frothy tan head and nice lacing. Spiced, roasty malty, bitter and yeasty aroma. Flavor with solid fruity sweet finish and a small bite of alcohol of long duration.
