3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A-- Poured a very syrupy dark brown with a lot of ruby in it. In the glass it was a coke syrup color with traces of dark ruby on the bottom of the glass. Did not think there was a head until the 300 ML mark, then a light kakhi colored head erupted and became one finger, finally settling to just light brown film that left a lot of lacing. Very little visible carbonation.
S-- Very spicy and sweet. Nutmeg, Coriander, Cinnamon, Orange peel, coffee, and some sweet chocolate. Almost Christmas in a nutshell. No noticeable alcohol smell with this.
T-- Spicy, sweet and syrupy. All the above mentioned flavors in the smell are in the taste but almost ramped up. Almost reminds me of the Chouffe N’Ice with the taste. There is a slight bit of an alcohol burn with this.
M-- Has a slight Pine or candy cane hop feel at the end. It helps cut through the sweetness and leave a fresh feel that pine or peppermint would with a candy cane. A bit syrupy though. Low carbonation and medium feel.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The aroma is light cinnamon and cocoa. Pours a very dark brown with no head, some wisping bubbles during the pour. The taste is a light sweetness. The body is medium, the texture thin and a little creamy, the carbonation soft and the finish smooth, no alcohol. Has tastes of figs, raisins some chocolate, the coriander still comes through and it still has some bite. Very Good!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle at home. I found this buried in the cellar and thought I would give it a try (a few days late). Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark fruits, cocoa, orange peel, spices, coriander, hints of cinnamon, and still a bit of alcohol. Probably better a few years back as the hops have faded, but not bad. Soft on the carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
Drank this in 2014. Nice flavor, nice aroma, but I suspect this might be past its prime. It’s weirdly watery. Oh, sure, I get plenty of orange peel and cocoa, but it’s off. I thought you could age this? Is it me? If I need to delete this, let me know...

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"this is simply a great beer and put some other worthy belgans to shame. dark, with an aroma full of pine, half from the hops, half from the spices. quite lively, with just a hint of cocoa under the big pine hop and sugary sweet flavor. smooth full body, lasting finish. one of Mikkeller’s best? 2009 up to the task as well."

Opaque black brown beer, a few bubbles instead of a head. Smooth palate, low carbonation. Smooth lactose dark malt. Touch of wood with a mild whisky - bourbon. A little fruit - well buried. Mild warmth in the finish. Simple but effective!
