Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 8, 2009 Drunk to celebrate my rating number 12,400. A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol as well as lighter notes of ginger, coriander, coffee, and cocoa. The flavor is sweet and very roasted and spicy - especially coriander, but also notes of alcohol and lighter notes of cocoa, leading to a dry cocoa and roasted finish. The alcohol is felt both on the tongue and palate, and lingers for a long time. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 8, 2008 Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Grovlam. Opaque dark brown with a dense light brown head leaving laces. Spicy aroma, some burned malts. Quite full-bodied, burned maltiness, spicy and fruity with a whiff ginger. Finishes rather bitter. 311008 yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 22, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a dense light brown head. Aroma is spiced, complex yet with a clear annis seed note. Flavour is mild smoked and and roasted malty with a light spice note. Chocolate malty too. Light cinnamon on the back of the tongue. Lasting coriander and smooth chocolate finish. Light bitterness to a vague acidic note into the far finish. Main impression however is the chocolate smoothness and light complimenting spice notes. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Mar 25, 2009 Bottle 75cl. @ home. Clear dark brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, cacao, moderate hoppy, orange shell, wooden spunce, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syruy, carbonation is soft and smooth, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20081208] joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 20, 2008 Draught at Řlbaren.

KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Dec 24, 2008 Dark brown with medium off white head. Sweet roasted malt, spices and overripe fruits. Sweet flavour with plenty of roasted malt, christmas spices, overripe fruits and caramel notes. Warming alcohol towards the end. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Dec 21, 2008 It is a black beer with a red hue and the head is dense and creamy. The aroma has notes of chocolate, light dark fruit and light spice. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, plum and other fruits, light alcohol, chocolate, licorice, spice and the finish is slightly dry. It is remarkably delicious. The previous years it has been wonderful, but this year I hear the angels sing. Damn, now I have to buy some more for Christmas eve...
