Wonderfully spiced aroma with both sweet caramel and roasty characteristics. Flavor is very dry and toasted. Flavors of chocolate, wood, and earth. Tasty and very unique like most brews by Mikkeller. Poured very dark brown in color with a large, creamy, dense, brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Opaque. Slightly sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is medium bitter and not at all sweet. Tastes of hops, light fruit, resin, pine, light cocoa, and light grapefruit. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Dark brown color, small beige head. Cinnamon, dark prunes, licorice, molasses. Slightly pine hoppy, cinnamon-clove spicey, licorice. Finish has alcohol and spices.
