Cheers Papso you legend. Dark brown pour with little head. Nose reminds of sweet melted caramel. Honestly....it resembles a McDonalds caramel sundae. Crazy. I love them! Loads of caramel and heavy Christmas came fruit driven notes about. Sweet and sticky tones and mouth feel. Good stuff

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6989) - London, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2013
Bottle shared at CPK, London - one of my contributions. Pours dark amber with a large, tan cream head. Dark berries in the nose, some alcohol, light toffee. Medium to big sweet flavor with light earth, alcohol, semi-ripe fruits, mild leathery fruits, raspberry, some fruitcake. Full bodied with very lively carbonation - until I stir the shit out of the beer to calm it down some, at which point the carbonation softens up and the beer’s nuances become a bit more apparent. Warm finish with rich semi-dark fruits, berries especially, and some sweet bread. Not bad but I was hoping for more. Decent depth.

Bottle. Massive thanks to Leighton for pulling this out of the cellar! The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is deep brown with a small head. The aroma’s deep spiced chocolate, some raisin, woody bourbon and some red fruits. The taste is prune, brown sugar, chocolate and wood. Rich, full flavors. Slightly metallic body. Perhaps a touch oxidized. Overall, not bad stuff!

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy deep mahoganny brown with a thick light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, dark fruit, vanilla, coconut, chocolate, red wine and Xmas spice. The taste is dark fruit, prune, date, red grape, roasted malt, candy, vinous, chocolate, spice, wood, some astringency and alcohol warmth, with a dry, faintly tart finish. Medium to full body and lively carbonation. Decent, but I can’t say I love it.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 n0mel (250) - FINLAND - DEC 17, 2012
(From notes 13.11.12) Bottle. Beige foam, settles fast. Beer is a hazy dark brown color. Aroma has hints of blue cheese (!), sweet and quite like a Belgian (spiced) Xmas ale. Flavors are dark sugar, sweet, a little bit of all kinds of things, a wee bit bitter. Very smooth mouthfeel. Aftertaste is malty and sweet.
Overall, good stuff. For some reasons makes me think of a very spicy Pannepot.
