Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Cloudy dark red/brown - offwhite head. Raisins, yeasty, phenolic, belgian yeasty, soapy, pear notes - overripe fruits, roasted, smokey, wooden tartness, berries, licorice, thin body and finish.

375cl bottle served in a Delirium Noel glass. Pours a deep dark brown with very little head but that can be forgiven for the almost chistmas pudding consistency and aroma. The aroma is as powerful as the strongest imperial stout. Aroma is whiskey and dark fruits loaded with Christmassy spices and goodies. Taste is chocolate truffle covered Christmas pudding soaked in whisky (and I mean loads of whisky). This is the best Christmas beer I have ever tried and I can’t imagine a better one coming along any time soon. Absolutely fantastic -a true luxurious Christmas beer that you just wish would last for ever.

375 ml bottle. Vertical with 2011 regular version. BBE 21.06.2018.
Pours dark red-brown color with a minimal head. Wooden malts and whiskey on the nose, caramel, honey, some port notes too. Dark berry notes on the flavor, alcohol comes through, caramel and lots of sweet honey notes too. Not very pleasant, a bit too all over the place. Regular 2011 is much better.

37,5 cl bottle @ tiong, BBE 21.06.2018
Vertical with basic Helper 2011, which was lot more better and balanced
Aroma is rather stingy with alcohol, rubbery tones and some smoky, raw whiskey. Also gluey tones. Flavour has glue, licorice, stinging whiskey and alcohol. Finishes with rubbery and herbal tones. Aftertaste has some nice mellow whisky notes. Not my thing.

375ml bottle from Drink Shop, Tallinn @ Varjopikkujoulut

Vertical with the normal version (2011) - Pours dark brown with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of heavy whisky notes, hints of peat, licorice, dark ripe fruits, syrup and candi sugar. Taste is sweet, stuffy and syrupy with notes of wood, oak, peat, ripe fruits, candi sugar and licorice. Finish is sweet, stuffy and a bit messy with some overpowering whisky, syrupy stickiness and ripe fruits. A bit unbalanced. Regular version is way better.

lusikka (6551) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 13, 2014
375 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black colour without a head. Aroma of strong Speyside notes, tart wooden notes and soy sauce. Flavour of toasted malts, syrupy sweetness, wood, salty soy sauce notes, vanilla, biscuit and spiciness. Medium bodied and thin mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Overwhelming barrel-aging. Nah.

Degu @erzbierschof. Heftiger, likörartiger Duft. Wenig Sojasauce. Vollmundig, malzig-süss, wenig bitter, keine Säure, trotzdem leicht spritzig. recht gut. (hier rauchiger, vollmundiger, besser!)

Almost opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is light and dry with modest fine carbonation. Mild dark malts. Tangy but mild speyside. Acetone. Mildly tangy dark fruits. Dry finish. Weird and pretty hard to drink.

0,375L bottle. Pours very dark brown with tan head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is sweet, dark chocolate, whiskey, dark fruits and spices. Flavor is sweet and some sourness, dark chocolate, fruits, malt, whiskey and a lot of spices. Overall: very nice, like christmas in your mouth.

Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Brown beer, small tan head. Smells like christmas - roast, dark fruit, whisky, spice notes. Flvor is plums, dried fruits, whisky, malt, spice, sweetness, peaty hints, wood. Dried fruit, whisky and alcohol in the finish. Aging the bottle may have made this smoother, I think.
