Pours very dark red with a tan head. Aroma is spices and roasted malts, as is pretty much the flavor. Brilliant again from Mikkeller.

375 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Very dark brown/black, opaque liquid with mahogany edges and huge tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, fruity, piny hops, fruity yeast esters, dark sugar, spices and some light coffee. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter and quite roasted but still fruity in a belgian way. Medium to full bodied with OK carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. A bit boozy but nothing too awful. Nice one, though it feels a bit more like an Imperial Porter or Stout than a Belgian Strong Ale (even if the belgo notes absolutely are there).

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of malt, chocolate, hops, pine, and a hint of roasting. Poured very dark brown in color with a small, creamy, dense tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt, chocolate, and a hint of soy. Medium body. Average texture. Soft carbonation. Medium sweet, malt and chocolate finish is dry. 10.9%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Smell of licorice, oil, caramel. Colour very dark brown, with a faint of red. Medium brown, creamy head. As cold, aroma of nuts, liqueur, some coffee and slightly burning sensation of high alcohol content. Long aftertaste. Sweet.

Bottle from systembolaget, Christmas beer tasting. Helsingborg, November 2011.
Big aromas of chocolate, nuts, pears, dark sugar and Belgian yeast. Slightly vinous with a soft refined sweetness. Smooth body with a lot of flavour. Loads of toffee, chocolate and spices shines through in the taste. Very balanced. More flavours of pears, syrup, nuts and esters emerge as the beer warms up. Great Christmas beer!

draft at Blue Monk, darker pour. Aromas of chocolate with some light dark fruits. Pretty intense at almost 11%, chocolate, light dark cherry. Not overly complex but pretty tasty

Flaske 0,33l fra Alko Muonio. Kosedrigg hjemme 4 Des 11. Kullsort. Forbausende lett-drikkelig. Litt skummelt.
