Bottle 375ml - Thanks. Dark red brown beer with a light brown head. In the nose there is coconut, bounty chocolate bar and vanilla notes from the cognac. It is a medium bodied beer, with a light fine carbonation. In the taste there is Licorice, chocolate, nice wooden, roasted malts, light burned notes, wooden dryness, some light christmas feeling. Overall a nice alcoholic bounty chocolate bar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany / dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out notes of butterscotch, cognac and dark fruits - interesting note. Flavour is very similar, with notes of butterscotch, buttery notes, some light barrel characteristics, and dark fruits. Not very similar to the base beer - the barrel aging has made this into a butterscotch bomb. It’s quite good for what it is.

Bottle courtesy of Mr Ken. It pours deep brown with a small tan head. The nose is toasty, earth, bounty bar, vanilla, toasted coconut, wood and dark chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, toast, fruit cake, earth, vanilla, spice, cognac, bounty and dark fruits. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Nice bounty bar character. Smooth, well-balanced and tasty. The clear winner of the 2012 BA Santa’s Little Helpers.

Tasting at the pad of the ever gracious Bruce. Opaque dark brown beer, yellowish pale tan head. Palate is smooth and softish, semi dry. Soft creamy malt with a light touch of dark chocolate. Big coconut combines with the chocolate and cream to give a nice Bounty Bar vibe. Light and mellow Cognac leads to mild tangy dark fruits. Sweet and tasty. Lovely.

Bottle cheers to Kenny boy. The best of the BA 2012 Santa’s by a fair margin. Absolutely silky smooth stuff. Big vanilla and toffee focus in front of mammoth dark fruits and charry fruit cake. Oak sweetness and almost a soy note to be had in velvety and smooth nuttiness. Taste has a nice coconut focus to it which envelopes the dark fruits superbly. Quite stewed and almost gives off a crème caramel focus. Lovely stuff

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Ken for another one of these Christmas lovelies. Pours rich brown with a frothy beige head. Very well balanced nose, with notes of coconut, rich chocolate, ripe fruits. Big sweet flavor with rich, oily coconut, somewhat sugary chocolate, low bitterness. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Warming finish with more oily coconut, dark chocolate, dark fruits. Super well balanced and deep. Excellent.

draught@Erzbierschof - black beer under a persistent beige foam; creamy, nice lacework; light roasted chocolatey aroma, vanilla and woody notes of apples and cognac; pretty sweet, ful-bodied, creamy palate; residual sweetness, coffee and chocolate, light bitterness and roasted malts in the finish

37.5cl bottle from ølbutikken 90,-. pitch dark, smooth brown head. typical ba stoutish aroma with lakridskonfekt (sweet licorice, coconut, vanilla), roasted malts, sweet and spicy. flavor is coconuts, sweet licorice, mild hops, roasted malts, ends a little more malty roasted than it begins, palate is quite round. Flavor is quite a lot like a BA imp. stout, only somewhat sweeter perhaps. Not so much spices, but some can be tasted. I don’t like coconut very much in beer, other than that it is in fact pretty tasty.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2014 Tap. Rerated. Bottled. Pours dark brown with a small, lacing tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, vanilla, cognac traces and spicy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and slightly bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and soft carb. An excellent brew.
