On tap. Black with a creamy tan head. Mossy frankincense, cinnamon, and chocolate aroma and taste with light coffee notes and a burnt grain finish and perfume like spice lingering on the far back end.

Bottle. Opaque dark brown liquid with medium to big, firm light tan head. Very good head retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, pumpernickel, chocolate, licorice, raw sugar, bitter orange peel, some light spices and fruity belgo yeast esters. Taste is quite dry and light to medium bitter with a nice, bready maltiness notes of chocolate, orange and light spices. Full bodied with a pleasantly soft carbonation. Good stuff. Not boozy at all like last year’s vintage and also well balanced.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown with some red tinges when held to the light. Malt, fruitcake, cloves, liquorice and ginger in the aroma. Fruity, malty and slightly roasted taste with liquorice, chocolate and some festive spices detected. There is a slight sweetness too. The chocolatey notes are more pronounced in the finish.

Bottle poured into glass. Dark brown color, murky and slightly muddy. Good carbonation and head retention. Aroma has traces of apple brandy and is slightly boozy. Flavor doesn’t carry too many Christmas flavors but it’s still damn good.

Dark pour with tan head, slighty soapy on the sides. Nose is a well blended mix of milk chocolates, sweet fruits, dark malts and spices, with some booze. Good creamy texture. Tastes are well united semi sweet malts, some fruits, chocolates, and spices. Finishes clean with some burn. This has nice dessert qualities.
