Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Dark brown colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Roast and chocolate dominating over fruity notes. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Poured into a tulip glass. Dark cola brown with a thick, dense head of tiny brown bubbles. Aroma is malty and roasty with some chocolate and dark fruit notes as well as some Belgian candi sugar. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a lot of roastiness as well as some dark fruit and some of the Belgian yeast influence, and some piney hops towards the finish. Body is surprisingly light for the bold flavors and alcohol content. Has a slightly sticky mouthfeel and a long roasty/piney finish. This is dangerously drinkable for 11%. Overall this is an awesome beer with an incredible amount of flavor and alcohol that is still fairly light bodied and easy to drink.

Black with mahogany highlights, mocha-colored head that retained well and left very nice lace. Aromas of dark fruit , mollasses, caramel and alcohol. Flavors are similar, accentuated the sweetness of the dark fruit and caramel, accompanied by a warming alcohol. Full body, generous carbonation, silky mouthfeel, and a pleasantly warm and sweet finish.

Very dark brown.....we’ll just call it black, a thin brown crown floats on top. Nose is full of raisins, pine, and hints of coffee. Aroma could be bolder. Couldn’t wait needed to drink..... thick..... raisins.... molasses.... coffee finish. I let beer warm for half an hour, so much better now. Heavy almost burnt tasting malt, thick dark fruit that morphs into cheery in the finish. Ash, wood, prunes, coffee. Crap done half the bottle my head is vibrating/spinning. I think I’m hitting Belgian yeast but not sure. I swear this is more of a Porter the Belgian strong. So much cheery in the nose now. When I exhale my breath taste like booze and melons. BLETCH!!!!! All my thoughts are fuzzy and confused, I’m concentrating as hard as I can but unable to focus on anything. Dam this tasty. Burnt sugar bordering on soya sauce. Starting to notice a ashtray in the lingering aftertaste. A drunk Brad is a happy Brad..... until morning, hungover Brad hates everyone..... he’ll cut you.

Bottled, from Systembolaget, Stockholm. Hazy dark brown, rich head. Chocolatey spruce aroma. Sweetish with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with milk chocolate, spruce needles and fudge. Warming finish with sticky caramel. Well hidden alcohol. Lots of flavours, but nothing subtle.

Pours deep brown & brass. Smells of anise and licorice. Strong licorice flavor, some mild citrus from the hops. Nice Belgian, but not my favorite example of a holiday ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 750 ml bottle. Opaque, near black with 4-finger tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of yeast, spice, roasted malt and dark fruit. Taste of dark fruit, sweet dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and spices. Medium body and medium carbonation. The spices and sweet roasted malt flavors blend perfectly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep reddish brown with a large foamy amber head. Good carbonation. At first sip this wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but in a good way. Big aroma, lots of chocolate malts seeing as it’s Christmas, with cherries, berries, nuts, raisins and a bit of alcohol, for 10.9 % this goes down really smooth. Palate is thick & creamy. Excellent beer

Deep brown with thin beige head. Aroma is spicy, peppery, and type with estery alcohol. Surprisingly dry finish follows a rich nutty, fruity flavour. Alcohol is prevalent, with slight rocket fuel flavour present, but rather good all round.

Had this froma bottle. Thick reddish head, dark color, smells somewhat malty, tastes chocolatey and a little boozy.
