Bottle. Poured dark reddish brown color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy complex dark sweet and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol bite. Bottled. Dark reddish Brown coloured. Dense light Brown head. Aroma. Caramel, sweetness, Brown sugar, Spice, plums, prunes, light alcohol. Flavour. Sweetness, coriander, light vanilla, roast, caramel, ripe fruits. Definite portwine character. Medium to full bodied. Ends sweet anf fruity with a light Spicy touch. Delicious, but The reel question is. Is it really necessary with all these Indian Spices in a Danish beer?. Why not use the traditional danish Spices like liqourice, orangepeel, cloves and cinnamon.

Draft. Dark brownish maroon color, nice dark brown head, solid lacing. Aroma os slightly medicinal coffee. Taste is coffee spiked with a schnapps of some sort. Muvh tastier than the aroma would suggest.

from Erzbierschof - black beer with a rather poor beige foam left; aroma of black chocolate with some coriander on top of it; pretty sweet; full-bodied; a light earthy tartness, residual sweetness with hints of candi sugar and chocolate; some lingering sharpness - not really convincing

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2014 750ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Pungent hoppy aroma, very raw - seems like it might appreciate some ageing, lots of orange peel. Quite different in the taste, this one is ready to drink now, unlike previous SLHs I’ve had young, despite the clues the aroma gave. Nice rich roasty body. Smooth palate, nice carbonation. Mellow roasty finish. Look forward to trying one with a little bit of age on it too. 6-12 months would be good, I guess.
Rerate: 750ml bottle - 15 months aged.(7+:5:7+:4:14=3.7++)
Beautiful aroma, sweet, very gently spiced belgian strong dubbel to almost porter roast. Lovely black, small tan head. Spicey estery retronasals, great roast nice and toasty. Nice little burnt finish, and some nice biting noble hops. Mellow rich roast finish, fills out very nicely
