Kosmokrator (470) - ITALY - JAN 25, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 Alla spina.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to King Kenny, 16/01/14. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan covering that retains well. Nose is light soap, hint of plastic, booze, dark fruits, touch of toffee. Taste comprises earthy cocoa, dark fruits laced with booze, touch of coffee, pinch of spice, lght roast, dark toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozed laced closure. Decent strong de la Belgique.

Bottle courtesy of Mr Ken. It pours darkest ruby-brown with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is dried fruits, earth, toast, candy, spice and jam. The taste is dandelion & burdock, toast, dark fruits, candy, liquorice, vanilla, toffee and spice. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Plenty of fruit action going on. A touch sweet perhaps. Alright.

Tasting at the pad of the ever gracious Bruce. Opaque dark brown beer, big yellowish tan - cream head. Palate is light and smooth. Sweet milk in the malt, a little cream as well. Vert light spice. Mild bubblegum ester underneath. Very mild dark fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Tasty but a tad milky overall.

Bomber bottle cheers to the main man Ken. Pours hazy dark brown with a very sticky khaki head. Nose is spiced chocolate, touch bready, cardamom and very mild liquorice. Taste is quite boozy from the get go with big doughy and spice driven notes. Aniseed forward and full of straw behind the heavy fruitcake notes. Too boozy for my liking. Solid

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Kenny. Pours rich red-brown with a frothy, beige head. Enticing nose, some toffee, leathery fruits. Medium sweet flavor with rich bread, dried fruits, raisins. Full bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Sweet finish with hefty fruitcake, leathery fruits, hints of cocoa, mild earthy bitterness. Delightful.

tap@Fermentoren, CPH - dark brown pour with a good sized tan head and persistent lacing. Roasted malty goodness, Christmas cake/pudding like, dark fruits and spice, brown sugar, some slight choc, and vanilla at the end. Lovely.

lamas (1355) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 11, 2014
750mL bottle. A murky light mahogany pour with a MASSIVE dark khaki head. Cola, plums, dark cherries, candi sugar, caramel, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, wintry spices, wood fire, and a touch of leather in the aroma. Goes down relatively thin to medium-bodied, yet soft & smooth. Caramel and candi sugar start things off taste-wise. A toasted breadiness follows. Some tangy dark fruits, cola, dark chocolate, and a roasted coffee bitterness finish things off. Earthy. Nutty. A fair amount of warming alcohol and plenty of wintry spices present from start to finish.

Definitely has that cola aroma and flavor, along with dried fruits, nuts and and a touch of roast and earth. A bit of an alcoholic burn, though the candi sugar definitely dries it out nicely. A decent beer for the winter; would drink again.
