4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 lululegrand (94) - gent, BELGIUM - APR 2, 2006
Cloudy red-brown beer with a creamy beige foam. Nose is very complex, nutmeg, exotic woods, spices, flowers and nice hops are there to make your nose go crazy. Taste is medium dry with cognac accents. There is a bitterish touch of bitter nutpeel, cademom, wood and touch of honey to give it a mildish flair and for sure a grat dosis of citrussy hops. The afthertaste is just great. At Carlo Mikkeller tasting.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 drpimento (1936) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2010
Man this single hop line from Mikkeller is outta sight. This one isn’t quite as good as a couple of other and is better than the Cascade. Poured with a nice thick foamy frothy creamy light tan head and lots of lace. Aroma is spicey hop malt caramel and a bit of yeast. Color is a hazy medium dark amber. Flavor is like aroma with great up front bitter sweet balance. Body is full and carbonation is just as it should be. Finish is like flavor and leaves me wanting another swallow. Session for sure.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 ekstedt (4544) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 5, 2010
Draught at Ölrepubliken, Göteborg, Sweden. Shady copper, creamy rich off-white head. Very fresh and clean hop aroma, with citrus, blackberries, and pine needles. Medium bodied, with soft carbonation and creamy texture. Perfectly balanced with a lingering clean and firm bitterness. The only problem with this one was that I started the evening with it and that all other hoppy beers I tried after it were kind of bleak.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 argo0 (10388) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 23, 2010
33cl bottle, best by 04/11/11. Hazy amber body topped by medium, rocky beige head that remains steady as the glass is drained and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some spicy, bread. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some spicy, light bread/caramel. Medium body, some resin, chewy. Another great single-hop IPA from Mikkeller, my favorite to date.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 lachesis (757) - St Idesbald, BELGIUM - MAR 19, 2006
Hazy deep amberish beer with creamy slight yellow-beige head. Aroma is complex and has a very refreshing carater. There are loads of flower aromas going on. Geraniums, violets, bitter Alp flowers but also hints of tropical woods, massis banda, cara malts, cocoa poder and instant coffee. The taste is very well balanced. The medium to full boddied mouthfeel and the refreshing bitterness are binging elegance and lots of refined impressions in this more than nice IPA.
In the afthertaste there is slight touch of olivebread, moonseeds, bitter chocolats, heavey caramelized ognions, malts, loads of flowers and a perfect dosis of dry slight citric hops. What can I say, once again an outstanding brew.
